LACK OF POWER UNDER HEAVY LOAD WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OR DTCS: Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system. |
| 09-005-20-3653 | 2020-01-23. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may exhibit a rattling noise from the front of the vehicle while driving. The noise may be caused by loose cowl panel bolts. |
| 01-001-20-3650 | 2020-01-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. After parking the vehicle in temperatures below freezing, some customers may experience a lack of power with the check engine light on and DTCs P0638:00 and/or P2112:00 stored in memory. - P0638:00: Throttle valve actuator control range/performance problem (one drive cycle DTC) - P2112:00: Throttle valve actuator motor current range/performance problem (one drive cycle DTC) This concern may be caused by condensation in the intake manifold entering the throttle valve. After parking the vehicle in temperatures below freezing, the throttle valve may become frozen in the stand-by position, resulting in the symptoms listed above. To prevent this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified to avoid freezing the throttle valve by moving the valve at a certain time after the ignition has been turned off. NOTE: With this modification, the main relay may stay on up to 90 minutes after the ignition switch is turned off. The “BATTERY INSPECTION” area in the Workshop Manual will be modified to properly check for battery parasitic draw after this modification. NOTE: This Service Information is most likely applicable if the concern can be resolved by turning the ignition switch on/off when the vehicle is parked in a warmer location, such as a shop or garage. |
| SA-053-19 | 2019-12-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. GUIDE LINES AND PHOTOS TO DETERMINE IF FLUID/OIL SEEPAGE OR LEAK IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO REQUIRE WARRANTY REPAIR OR TO CLEAN AND MONITOR. Some customer's might state that they notice fluid or oil leaking/dripping on the ground when the vehicle is parked. For this concern, inspect the vehicle for any trace of a fluid or oil leak and use the following examples as a guide to determine if it is severe enough to require a repair, or just to clean the area and monitor it at the next service. |
| MT-002-19 | 2019-12-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. If an engine assembly is replaced after a catastrophic internal mechanical failure, clean the intake manifold internally before installing a replacement engine assembly. If the intake manifold is not cleaned properly, the replacement engine may fail prematurely. Metallic debris from the old engine (with catastrophic internal mechanical failure) may rest inside the intake manifold. When the new engine assembly is installed, debris in the intake manifold will be ingested into the new engine and cause internal damage. |
| 01-022-19-3657 | 2019-12-20. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Bulletin is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not. |
| 01-019-19-3628 | 2019-12-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit oil leakage from the drive belt auto tensioner and rattling noises from the engine compartment. This may be caused by insufficient sealing at the drive belt auto tensioner damper when the auto tensioner fully operates under both high ambient temperature and high load conditions. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the drive belt auto tensioner damper has been changed. |

| 07-007-19-3638 | 2019-11-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Some customers may complain about poor heater performance even after the engine reaches normal operating temperature. This may be caused by a plugged heater core. For 2014-2016 Mazda6 and 2013-2016 (US spec) / 2017 (Mexico spec) CX-5, the CHECK ENGINE light may turn on with DTC P011A:00 (ECT sensor No.1/No.2 performance problem) stored at the same time. NOTE: Refer to TSB 01-015/15 if the customer is using a block heater at temperatures below freezing. To solve this concern, two mass production changes have been implemented. a) The concentration of the coolant has been increased so that the amount of the contained anti-rust additive is higher. b) The composition of the coolant has been changed (the ratio of the anti-rust additive has increased). |
| MT-003-19 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain about high engine oil consumption. Before attempting any repairs, verify the complaint by using the guideline below to determine if an engine repair is necessary: |
| MT-002-19 | 2019-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. |
| SA-040-19 | 2019-09-23. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. | 01-005-19-3548 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit the check engine light on with DTC P0456 stored in the PCM memory. P0456: EVAP system leak detected (very small leak). The concern is most likely the result of the customer not getting the fuel cap completely closed after fueling the vehicle. This causes a small fuel vapor leak and turns DTC P0456 on. |
| 01-004-19-3558 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. On some vehicles, a sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor may be noticed coming from the exhaust system. The odor is usually noticed after a cold start, fast idle, extended periods of idling and full throttle acceleration. Sulfur smell is not an indication of an engine concern and will not cause reduced driveability or durability of the engine or any of its emission components. The sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor is caused by high amounts of sulfur in the gasoline being used in the vehicle. Sulfur is normally eliminated during the refining process, but the EPA regulation of sulfur in gasoline differs from state to state. Vehicles using fuel containing high amounts of sulfur will most likely emit sulfur smell from the exhaust system. When high sulfur fuel is burned, there is a chemical reaction in the catalytic converter causing the sulfur tooxidize. As the vehicle is driven, the oxidizing reaction odor in the converter will decrease with mileage and age. |
| 01-003-19-3557 | 2019-02-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored inmemory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed. P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display "F0-002" during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km). Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 01-017-18-3518 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some customers may experience a check engine light on and DTC P0401:00 stored in memory without any drivability issues. P0401:00 - [PCM] EGR flow insufficient detected. This concern may be caused by the detection logic for the DTC is too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified. |
| 01-016-18-3522 | 2018-10-09. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. On some vehicles, a sulfur smell or 'rotten egg' odor may be noticed coming from the exhaust system.
