Service bulletins for the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may exhibit the navigation feature in the center display screen only displaying imperial units and not being able to change to metric. This may be due to the software level of the SYNC module (APIM). This issue does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in September 2023. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicles settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in September 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information. |

Some 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an upper engine thump/knock noise coming from the left cylinder head. This condition is most noticeable at idle and may lessen at higher engine speed or while driving. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and will not get worse over time. Use a stethoscope or chassis ears and listen just behind the left cylinder head intake VCT solenoid on the cam cover to determine if the thump/knock noise is coming from the cylinder head/camshaft. The left cylinder head and the camshaft roller followers are available as service parts. |
| SSM 51536 | 2023-05-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN. |
| SSM 51407 | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2021-2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience an error message during the gateway module (GWM) software update application which states Procedure Unsuccessful- GetConfigDataFromGIVIS. This may be the result of a server related concern. To correct the condition, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application GWM-Read the Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration Data application. When the application completes, refresh and re-attempt the GWM-Gateway Module A (GWM) Software Update application. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

This may be due to stuck internal components of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the VCT units. |
| TSB 23-2028 | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2022 Edge/Nautilus vehicles built on 18-Jul-2022 and through 04-Aug-2022 equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 2.0L engine may experience the fuel tank not filling up beyond half full, small amount of fuel leaking from the vapor line connection, vehicle hard to start, and/or vehicle stalling after start. This may be due to a disconnected fuel vapor line inside the fuel tank. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reattach the fuel tank vapor line inside the fuel tank. |
| SSM 51385 | 2023-03-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2019-2023 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine may exhibit a repeat block heater failure. This may be caused by air in the engine cooling system. The WSM replacement procedure has been updated to include the Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding procedure found in Section 303-03A Engine Cooling - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) MI4, General Procedures as the final step. Certain 2022 Model Year Multiple Vehicle Lines Equipped with 8F35 Transmissions Transmission Replacement In all of the affected vehicles, the snap ring that is used to hold the 8F35 transmission clutch compression spring engaged was not fully seated in the assembly process. When the snap ring is not fully seated, the transmission will function as if the C clutch is partially engaged. The customer may experience rough shifts until the transmission can adapt to the clutch performance. There is a potential long term durability concern associated with the compromised function of the clutch. |
| SSM 51261 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously. |
