Service bulletins for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

HANDS FREE ASSEMBLY, Power Liftgate For a concern of intermittent operation of the liftgate kick sensor, replacing this part with another AA level part will not resolve the concern. When the vehicle is in sleep mode (key off for more than 15 minutes) and an improper kick is detected, the module fails to send a signal for subsequent good kicks but is resolved with a key cycle. Engineering is working on a solution ETA Feb 2020. Do not replace with another AA level part for this concern or the issue will persist.

08-037-222022-06-27. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS. Rear Tail Lamp Condensation Clearing Procedure This bulletin is to communicate the procedure for rear tail lamp condensation clearing. Some customers may report that on occasion, vehicle exterior tail lamp assemblies are fogged with a light layer of condensation on the inside of the lenses. This may be reported after the lamps have been turned on and brought up to operatingtemperature, turned off, and then rapidly cooled by cold water (such as rain, or the water from a vehicle wash). Lens fogging can also occur under certain atmospheric conditions after a vehicle has been parked outside overnight (i.e., a warm humid day followed by clear cool night). This will usually clear as atmospheric conditions change to allow the condensation to change back into avapor. Turning the tail lamps on will usually accelerate this process.Clear Tail Lamp AssemblyTail Lamp Assembly with CondensationImages are not specific to vehicle, and only used for showing the tail lamps either clearFig. 1or having a condensation build up within the tail lamp assemblyFig. 2per the procedure.
