Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford Transit

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 547202026-04-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Various 2020-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z-14A411-B to resolve the concern.

SSM 543132025-10-28. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020-2025 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC).
SSM 538942025-06-19. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; VISIBILITY/WIPER; BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING. Some 2022-2025 Transit vehicles equipped with a 360 degree camera may exhibit one camera display inoperative with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B12BE:31, B148E:31, B12BF:31 and B115E:31 stored in the image processing module B (IPMB). These DTCs will set when only one camera has the condition. Replacement and/or reprogramming of the IPMB will not resolve this condition. To properly identify which camera/circuit has the condition and requires repair, visually confirm which camera display is inoperative (grayed out/blank/blue). If the condition is intermittent, interview the customer to find out more details and/or review the DTCs stored in the IPMB. The DTC with a status byte of 2F (example: B12BF:31:2F) indicates which camera/circuit has the condition. Repair as necessary. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 413-13C.
SU4 P1 Transit2023-09-07. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Software Update 4 P1 for 2022-2023 Transit Vehicles is now available. Quality improvements include: -Minimize time customer cannot enter the vehicle during future inhibit updates.
SSM 517602023-07-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT. Some 2022-2023 Transit vehicles, excluding cutaway and chassis cab body vehicles, equipped with a rear-view camera level 2 system only and 12 inch center display screen, may exhibit a lack of active or fixed guidelines after rear view camera replacement. Vehicles may also exhibit a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1001:55 stored in the SYNC module (APIM). This may be due to the APIM requiring the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) to recognize the new rear-view camera. To restore the active or fixed guidelines, download and run the APIM - Local Interconnect Network (LIN) New Module Initialization application in Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) when replacing the rear-view camera.
