Service bulletins for the 2015 Ford Transit

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

TSB 19-21662019-07-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may exhibit poor air conditioning (A/C) performance. If the cause of this is found to be a refrigerant leak from the evaporator, it is recommended to replace only the evaporator case as opposed to the entire climate control housing assembly. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SSM 480052019-06-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT; POWER TRAIN. If a 2015-2017 Transit vehicle originally equipped with a rubber flexible coupling requires replacement of the driveshaft assembly and/or transmission output flange, refer to the parts catalog supersession information for a complete list of the required parts. The service strategy has changed, and these repairs must now be completed by installing a new driveshaft and transmission output flange coupled with a u-joint.
SSM 480002019-06-07. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. 2015-2019 Transit vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels (DRWs) have a high mount rear marker lamp that does not illuminate with the stop lamps. This lamp assembly may appear to be a stop lamp but is intended to illuminate with the parking lamps only. This information is available in Workshop Manual Section 417-01. The JDDAB feature code description found under OASIS additional information is common between Single Rear Wheel and DRW vehicles, and incorrectly reflects STOP functionality when applied to DRW units.
SSM 479762019-06-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.
SSM 479482019-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE. SSM 47948 - 2010-2019 Various Vehicles - Turbocharged Engines - Oil Supply Filter Replacement When Replacing The Turbocharger Or The Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube For 2010-2019 vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, when diagnosing and/or replacing turbo related concerns, all steps within the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure must be followed including replacement of all mandatory discarded parts. When specified in the WSM, the turbocharger oil supply filter must be replaced whenever the turbocharger or the turbocharger oil supply tube are replaced. Turbocharger bearing failure may occur if oil starvation occurs due to a restricted filter.
SSM 478502019-05-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013-2019 vehicles equipped with a EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function and/or a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P06A0 in the powertrain control module (PCM). To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been developed and is available from Rotunda (339-EVDC100). A tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership free of charge with shipments completed 19-Apr-2019 (reference EFC07013 on FMCDealer.com). This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Make sure that this tester is used for warranty repairs and document the test results in the Technician Comments field. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions.
TSB 19-21082019-05-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2015-2019 Transit High-Roof Bus/Passenger Wagon vehicles may experience a loose or unseated headliner at the C and/or C 1/2 pillar(s) causing visible gaps. This may be due to a lack of retention capability of the headliner locator tabs to the pillar block pins. To correct the condition, install repair coupons to the headliner and replace the headliner A/C vent foam gaskets.
TSB 19-20972019-05-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles equipped with a 3.5L or 3.7L engine may exhibit a lack of heat or uneven heat from side to side. This condition may be due to deposits from the engine coolant becoming trapped in the heater core. To correct the condition, flush the cooling system and replace the heater core.
18M06-S12019-04-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Certain 2015-2017 Model Year Transit Vehicles with a 3.2L Diesel Engine - EGR Cooler Replacement

SSM 478242019-04-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.
SSM 477852019-04-08. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:FRONT:WHEEL BEARING; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR/TONE RING. Some 2015-2019 Transit vehicles may exhibit a front wheel bearing type noise or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. If the vehicle exhibits a wheel bearing noise and/or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034, remove the front wheel speed sensor (WSS). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-09. Using a shop rag, clean any debris from the sensor body as well as the back side of the bearing. If the noise is gone, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and fill out the form. Monitor OASIS for updates. If the noise or DTCs C0031 and/or C0034 is still present, continue with normal diagnostics. To assist with investigation use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS report and fill out the form. Monitor OASIS for updates.

SSM 478742019-04-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; SUSPENSION. When removing and installing a 2015-2019 Transit front subframe, the cage nuts located in the body of the vehicle may become damaged. If the nut spins in its cage when removing or installing the attachment bolts, the nut can be held with a socket through an access hole in the vehicles frame member. It may be necessary to bend the tabs of the cage up and away from the nut to allow socket placement. The cage nut has been released as a service part (CK4Z-61105A38-A) and can be replaced if damaged. The replacement nut can be removed from its cage and installed in the vehicle's original cage. It is not required to replace the cage as it is welded to the interior of the vehicles frame member.
SSM 478482019-04-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Some 2015-2019 Transit High Roof Bus/Passenger Wagon vehicles may have a headliner that does not stay seated at the C and/or C and half pillar hard trim. A permanent repair solution for the existing headliners has been developed and is expected to be available via TSB by late 2nd quarter 2019. Continue to monitor OASIS for updates. In preparation for the TSB repair, encourage your parts department to locally source 3M 04747 Super Repair Adhesive and mixing nozzles 3M 38191 (12 pack) or 38193 (50 pack) if you anticipate performing the upcoming repair. Do not fabricate alternative headliner attachment methods as an interim repair. Headliner retention in these areas is intentionally delicate to allow for proper side curtain airbag deployment.
TSB 19-20912019-04-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2015-2018 Transit vehicles built on or before 24-Jul-2018 may exhibit various drivability concerns including difficulty starting, misfires and/or an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P00BD, P1247, P1548, P061B, P2195, P2198, P2196, P2197, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0131 and/or P162F stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to undesired water entry into the engine compartment directly over powertrain components. To resolve this condition, install updated water management hardware and/or a revised air cleaner cover.
TSB 19-20612019-04-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE.
