Service bulletins for the 2015 Ford F-250

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 524762024-05-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.
SSM 519472023-10-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2019 F-Super Duty and 2015-2020 F-150/Mustang vehicles may require replacement of the powertrain control module (PCM) for various reasons. While performing a programmable module installation (PMI) using the Integrated Diagnostic Service (IDS) scan tool, an error message may state: Configuration Failed, Would You Like To Retry? This may be due to improper module replacement steps. Make sure that the original module is installed in the vehicle, delete the vehicle session, then start a new vehicle session. Once the session starts, run the PCM PMI and install the new PCM only when the scan tool instructs. Finish the PMI by following the prompts given by IDS. If the original PCM is not available, it is possible to configure the module by running as-built programming on the PCM. When IDS asks to obtain part numbers or configuration data, select configuration data.
SSM 506362022-03-29. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. 2011-2022 F-Super Duty and 2016-2023 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26°C (80°F) and may increase to 1200 RPM at -40 °C (-40°F). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take-off (PTO) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.

Certain 2013-2016 Model Year F-Series Super Duty 6.7L Diesel and 2015-2019 Model Year Transit 3.2L Diesel Vehicles – Rear NOx Sensor Warranty Extension In all of the affected vehicles, the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system initially contained a software error that prevented illumination of the malfunction indicator light (MIL) if a certain fault was present in the front or rear nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensor or in the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system. Since the PCM was reprogrammed under Emissions Recall 21E01, the OBD system is now able to detect this NOx sensor fault previously masked by the software error and can light the MIL if this fault is found to be present
21N022021-04-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Certain 2013-2016 Model Year F-Series Super Duty 6.7L Diesel and 2015-2019 Model Year Transit 3.2L Diesel Vehicles – Front NOx Sensor Warranty Extension In all of the affected vehicles, the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system initially contained a software error that prevented illumination of the malfunction indicator light (MIL) if a certain fault was present in the front NOx sensor. SSM 490392020-08-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Some 2015-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter, crankcase vent oil separator, oil cooler, upper/lower oil pan. This may be due to a clogged crankcase vent oil separator and/or a sealing concern. Do not remove/replace the engine front cover for upper oil pan leaks. Do not check for warpage on the upper oil pan. When the upper oil pan is not bolted to the vehicle, it has a natural tendency to twist slightly due to the manufacturing process for the pan and will not result in an oil leak. The Workshop Manual (Section 303-00 > Diagnosis and Testing > Engine > Engine Oil Leaks) provides information on the usage of fluorescent oil dye to locate the source of an oil leak. Refer to GSB Oil Leaks Weeps And Seeps for more oil leak diagnosis. Continue to monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 478502019-05-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013-2019 vehicles equipped with a EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function and/or a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P06A0 in the powertrain control module (PCM). To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been developed and is available from Rotunda (339-EVDC100). A tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership free of charge with shipments completed 19-Apr-2019 (reference EFC07013 on FMCDealer.com). This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Make sure that this tester is used for warranty repairs and document the test results in the Technician Comments field. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions.
SSM 474022018-09-10. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL; EQUIPMENT. When performing diagnostics for DTCs P2201, P2452, P2459, P246C and/or P2463, a manual regeneration and diesel particulate filter (DPF) parameter reset using the appropriate scan tool may need to be performed. To perform the manual regeneration, go to the Toolbox tab > Powertrain > Service Functions > Diesel Particulate Regeneration System > DPF Manual Regeneration. The scan tool may indicate that a regeneration of the DPF is not recommended at this time, selecting YES on this screen will allow the regeneration process to complete. To perform the DPF parameter reset, go to the Toolbox tab > Powertrain > Service Functions > Diesel Particulate Regeneration System > DPF Parameter Reset.

SSM 465142017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit intermittent lack of A/C performance. If root cause for lack of performance is diagnosed to be caused by the air inlet mode door remaining in mid travel position, it may be due to the heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) module not completing the initial key on self test of the actuator. To correct this condition, reprogram the HVAC module to the latest calibration using IDS release 104.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com.
