Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford Expedition
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 25-2466 | 2025-10-09. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a headliner rattle or sagging condition around the roof opening panel. This may be due to the adhesive separating from the headliner substrate. |

| SSM 52269 | 2024-02-23. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE; EQUIPMENT. 2022-2024 Explorer/Aviator vehicles built on or after 28-May-2022, 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 08-Jun-2022, 2022-2024 Escape vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 and 2022 Corsair vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 are no longer equipped with a hands free liftgate system. The vehicle is not misbuilt. The addition of any parts is not a warrantable repair. Do not submit a claim for this condition. |
| SSM 51789 | 2023-07-18. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE. Some 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 13-May-2023 may exhibit the power liftgate not fully opening when the vehicle is locked. This may be due to rear gate trunk module (RGTM) software. To correct this condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. For claiming, use casual part 14b291 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 51536 | 2023-05-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN. |
| SSM 51369 | 2023-03-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE. Some 2022-2023 Expedition vehicles (not including Expedition MAX) built on or before 26-Jan-2023 may exhibit the liftgate spoiler contacting the roof during freezing temperatures when ice is present. This may be due to an insufficient margin between the liftgate spoiler and the roof at the roof center line area. To correct the condition, repair the spoiler and roof per Workshop Manual, Section 501-03/501-28. Make sure that the margin between the liftgate spoiler and the roof is a minimum of 6.5 mm at the roof centerline after liftgate adjustment. For claiming, use causal part 7844210. |
| SSM 51346 | 2023-03-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE. Some 2022-2023 Expedition vehicles may exhibit the liftgate spoiler contacting the roof during freezing temperatures when ice is present. Engineering is currently investigating this concern. To correct the condition, repair the spoiler and roof per Workshop Manual, Section 501-03/501-28. For claiming, use causal part 7844210. |
| SSM 50881 | 2022-06-30. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE; STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Some 2022 Expedition vehicles, built on or before 01-Jun-2022, may exhibit a concern with the right and/or left power running boards intermittently not stowing and/or deploying when not commanded. This may be due to various software parameters in the driver front seat module (DSM). To correct the condition, download and run the Driver Front Seat Module (DSM) Configuration app on the latest level of the Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use causal part number 14C708 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 50823 | 2022-06-17. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS; EQUIPMENT. Some 2021-2022 Super Duty, Navigator, and Expedition vehicles equipped with a power roof opening panel may experience a malfunction or an inoperable condition with the power roof opening panel or sunshade where the initialization procedure may need to be performed. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 50117 > General Procedures > Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization is the process of being updated. At this time, when directed in Step 1 to switch the ignition ON, the engine should then be started and allowed to run. When Step 2 is reached and the vehicle is turned back on, the engine should be restarted and allowed to run through completion of the initialization procedure. |
