Service bulletins for the 2018 Cadillac XT5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

17-NA-3312021-04-15. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Rear View Camera Guidelines Not Present at Times Condition Some customers may report that the Rear View Camera (RVC) guidelines are temporarily not available at times but the RVC will remain on during the concern. Additionally, no related DTCs will be found if this bulletin applies. One example of when this concern may be observed is if a customer quickly starts the car and immediately places the shifter in Reverse while the infotainment system is still in the initial boot up process. Cause This is a result of the RVC image being provided via an alternate robust RVC feed from the Video Bypass Module (NGI systems) or from the radio (BYOM2 and Info 3.0 systems). This alternate robust RVC feed is provided in the event that the primary RVC feed is not available for any reason just to ensure that the RVC image is always present when in reverse. Correction If this concern is experienced and no related codes are present, DO NOT replace any parts as it is normal for the RVC guidelines not to be present when the RVC image being displayed is from the alternate robust RVC feed. If this occurs after quickly starting the vehicle and immediately placing the shifter in Drive, the RVC guidelines can be displayed again in most cases if they are really needed by safely coming to a stop, placing the transmission in Park for a moment, and then shifting to Reverse again.
17-NA-2842021-04-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. Reduced Steering Assist Message with DTC C0460 Sym 5A Condition Some customers may comment on a Reduced Steering Assist message on the DIC with no loss of steering assist. During diagnosis a technician may find DTC C0460 Sym 5A. Cause The condition is due to Steering Angle Sensor trim error. Note: The calibration allows for an error to set without actual loss of assist. Correction Reprogram the Power Steering Control Module.
17-NA-2712021-04-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; WHEELS. Clicking Noise from Front Wheels While Turning at Slow Speeds Condition Some customers may comment on a clicking noise emanating from the front wheels location. This condition may be more predominant at low speeds (10-20 mph or 16-32 km/h) during full wheel lock turns on dry clean pavement. Cause - his may be caused by interaction between the wheel mounting face and the wheel mounting surfaces on the brake rotor. Correction - lean both of the wheels mounting surfaces
16-NA-4072021-04-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Information on Chassis Control Module (CCM) Receives Invalid Data and Sets DTC U0422 The Technician may find DTCs U0422 set. The Technician may also find the following DTCs set. • U1534 • U1538 Information Based on analysis with the BCM team, during vehicle startup (on occasion) the PEPS module arbitration along with high bus traffic leads to the BCM setting the door open switch virtual device availability (VDA) to unavailable. The BCM does not update the VDA back to Available until the door switch changes state (this signal is event based as opposed to periodic). The ICCM sets the U0422 DTC after 1 second of either the door ajar VDA or door open VDA being unavailable. Correction Ignore CCM U0422 DTC (no service necessary) unless it is a current/active code or is accompanied by associated BCM faults U1534 or U1538.
