2018-12-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Fuel Tank Pressure Plausibility. A check engine light may be illuminated and the following fault is stored in the DME: 19401B: Fuel tank temperature-pressure sensor, plausibility; pressure to low opposed to ambient The integrated PT (pressure/temperature) sensor in the NVLD module must be calibrated at all times. If not calibrated, this fault will set when the pressure monitored has drifted out of the specified range. This condition is most common on vehicles that have had a software update with a version of ISTA/P up to 2.48.3. However, the fault may not occur immediately following programming. NOTE: If additional faults are stored for communication with the temperature sensor, further investigation is necessary. If the in-tank temperature reads a default high value such as 471°C, continue with the applicable test plan to determine the root cause. CAUSE ISTA/P versions up to 2.49.0 did not incorporate the PT sensor calibration in the update.

2018-11-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. HV Battery Expansion Valve Sticking. The high-voltage battery is cooled by refrigerant as part of the vehicle's AC system. It is regulated using an expansion valve at the base of the battery itself. This expansion valve can become stuck in the open position, either intermittently or permanently. Fault code 21F107 - Cooling valve: valve couldn't be closed will be stored in the SME. CAUSE 1. Excess material from the manufacturing process can become lodged in the valve, causing it to stick open. 2. The diagnostic software in the SME control unit is not robust enough and can lead to a fault being set when a particular threshold is reached, despite the fact that the valve is not actually sticking.
2018-11-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. "Service Action: Program Control Units (CAS). After programming/coding the vehicle with ISTA/P 2.48.1 or earlier, the Car Access System (CAS) was incorrectly coded. This causes the anti-theft alarm system panic button on the remote control to not function. In order to determine whether a specific vehicle has had this Service Action completed or is affected by this Service Action, first check the B-pillar label for code number 637. If code number 637 has been punched out, the campaign has already been performed. If code number 637 has not been punched out, it will be necessary to utilize the ""Service Menu"" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or the Key Reader. Based on the response of the system, either proceed with the corrective action or take no further action. Important Note: A campaign can be reserved in ISPA Light as ""Pending"" prior to submission of a claim. If you find this campaign reserved, please verify the reason before attempting to perform this repair."
2018-11-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Electric Vacuum Pump Intermittent Failure. The check engine light (CEL) is illuminated and the MSA malfunction check control message is present. No electric driving is possible. This situation may be intermittent or permanent. The following fault codes are stored in the Electric Machine Electronics (EME): * 2202ED - Brake-servo assistance: Mechanical ventilation flap control blocked, time threshold 2 exceeded * 2202EC - Brake-servo assistance: Mechanical ventilation flap control blocked, time threshold 1 exceeded CAUSE Internal mechanical failure of the electric vacuum pump. If intermittent, this leads to reduced vacuum and thus the associated fault codes. If not repaired, the amount of damage to the pump will increase to the point of a permanent failure.
| B613017 | 2018-11-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. RAIN/LIGHT SENSOR (RLS): OIL LEAKAGE FROM GEL PAD. ??Oil leaking from the Rain/Light Sensor (RLS). Note: This oil serves as a separation medium between the RLS mounting gel pad and the windscreen. The oil ensures damage free disassembly in case of repair. CAUSE The oil that serves as the separation medium of the Rain/Light Sensor (RLS) gel pad and the windscreen leaks out. Expose the Rain/Light Sensor (RLS) and properly clean the area of all oily residue. Note: The separating oil usually leaks only once from the pad at the RLS. Due to the small oil quantity in the gel pad, additional oil leakage is not plausible. Leaking oil does not impair the function of the RLS. |
