3403132018-12-03. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Incorrect Remaining Service Life from CBS Data for Brake pads. The calculated remaining service life for the brake pads (front and/or rear axle) from the CBS data does not match the actual brake pad thickness. The customer notices implausible remaining distances (too high or too low) on the front and/or the rear axle brake system. Note: E9x vehicles with xDrive are not affected by this bulletin. 1217132018-12-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. N55: Engine Difficult to Start at Cold Ambient Temperatures. The complaint may include any of the following symptoms: * The engine stalls immediately after a cold start before driving away * The engine may run roughly or misfire after a cold start * The engine does not start cold or may take several attempts * To assist starting when cold, the accelerator may need to be depressed slightly and the idle speed raised for a few seconds so the engine does not stall This can occur most frequently at outside ambient temperatures between -15°C and + 15°C. It is possible that the Service Engine Soon (MIL) lamp is on with misfire fault(s) stored, but it is equally possible that there will be no faults stored in the DME. Unfavorable DME software Cold start or idling problems may arise due to poor fuel quality. The use of summer fuel during cold outside temperatures may also lead to such problems.
6513102018-12-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. In all audio modes (radio, CD, AUX-In, etc.), the audio output is distorted. It is more noticeable with high bass and high audio volume settings. 6510132018-12-03. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS; AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION. "Enabling and Replacing New OC3 Seat Mat. The replacement OC3 seat mat (front passenger seat occupancy) will not enable when following ISTA Repair Instruction REP 65 77 604, ""Replacing sensor mat (OC3 mat) for passenger seat occupancy detector."" When the new mat is installed in the vehicle, too much pre-load pressure will prevent the mat from being enabled. ISTA/P WILL NOT enable the new part, and will cause permanent damage to it."

After programming the vehicle with ISTA/P 2.48.x, the voice recognition (Basic SVS) is inoperative. NOTE: The Basic SVS only includes voice recognition for phone functions. Error in the coding data of ISTA/P 2.48.x The voice recognition function is unintentionally deactivated.
5404122018-12-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Retractable Hard Top (RHT) Is Not Stacking Properly - Frame Bent. The RHT frame is bent or twisted and cannot be operated in either direction, or the roof shells are not stacking properly. The hydraulic roof cylinders operate out of sequence causing the frame to twist.

The customer may complain that during the cold start in the morning, the engine runs very roughly and the Service Engine Soon lamp is illuminated. Various misfire fault codes (e.g., 29CC, 29D2, 29D1, 29D0, 29C0, 29CF) may be stored in the DME control module. The engine rough running complaint can be reproduced on a cold start in the workshop. During the course of diagnosis, the spark plugs, removed from the misfiring cylinders after the problem was reproduced, are found to be soaked (?wet?) with fuel, while the injector tips are covered with a layer of carbon deposit.

One or more of the following situations may apply: * The safety belt extender extends but the belt slips off. * The ""hand"" on the extender fails. * The safety belt is twisted. * The extender will not operate and makes noise while extending. S One or more of the following causes may apply: 1. The safety belt is incorrectly positioned. 2. The ""hand"" on the extender has mechanically failed. 3. The safety belt slips off the ""hand"" due to excessive resistance from the seat belt reel, not allowing the belt to extend properly. The seat belt is twisted. 4. The safety belt slips off the ""hand"" due to the belt material being excessively worn. 5. The safety belt extender fails to extend or retract intermittently due to FRM (Footwell Module) software. 6. The safety belt extender is noisy or inoperative, due to a communication problem or incorrect power or ground."
