Over-the-air update PT-26.11.3 F-150

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 552282026-10-12. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2026 Aviator/Explorer/F-150/Bronco/Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L (non-diesel) engine may need the front engine cover removed and reinstalled for various reasons. The Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01 Engine > Removal and Installation > Engine Front Cover service procedure has been updated to include a new essential special service tool (ESST) guide pin alignment tool (303-1790) that is used to align the engine front cover to the engine block, preventing the O-ring seal on the engine oil galley feed tube from getting damaged during installation.
SSM 551112026-09-01. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2026 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a reduced distance to empty (DTE) projection, a high voltage battery pack state of charge (SOC) that drops from 100% to less than 90% within 60 seconds of being driven, and an inability to reach a target SOC using the scheduled charging feature without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the battery energy control module (BECM). This may be due to an issue in one or more cells within the high voltage battery pack. To correct the condition, run the "BECM Battery Health" application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If any cells are identified as exceeding state of charge and/or capacity thresholds, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables Electric. Perform Pinpoint Test High Voltage Battery Pack Cell Balancing Faults, Step 4 (PPT Step AO4 for 2022-2024 vehicles/PPT Step AQ4 for 2024-2026 vehicles) and proceed with Pinpoint Test directions following the results of Step 4.
SSM 550802026-08-20. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 25-Jun-2023, 2022-2025 E-Transit and 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may experience a high voltage battery stop charging condition when using a direct current (DC) fast charger level 3 with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0EEE:27 and P2E53:27 stored in the on-board diagnostic control module A (SOBDM). This may be due to the SOBDM software. Replacement of the charge port will not resolve this concern. Inform customers that their vehicles can still be charged using a level 1 or level 2 alternating current (AC) charger. Engineering is currently working on a software solution expected in Q3 2026. Schedule an appointment with the customer when the repair becomes available. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
SSM550592026-08-03. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine, 2020-2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine, and 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost hybrid engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may be unable to enter electric-only drive modes as expected during normal drive cycles. This may be due to the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). For vehicles with this condition, follow the necessary Pinpoint Test in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 for DTC P0A1E and repair the vehicle as directed. Note that previous replacement of the BISG does not negate the need for subsequent BISG replacements if directed to do so by the appropriate Pinpoint Test diagnostics. Engineering is investigating this BISG quality concern. Monitor PTS for updates regarding this investigation.
SSM 550322026-07-29. If any cells are identified as exceeding state of charge and/or capacity thresholds, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables > Diagnosis and Testing > High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables - Electric > Pinpoint Test AP > Step AP4 and continue diagnosis. If all cells are within state of charge and capacity thresholds or DTCs are present in the BECM, refer to the WSM for normal diagnosis. For claiming, use causal part 10D672 and labor op
SSM 550312026-07-28. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration
TSB 26-22332026-05-18. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 26-2116 to clarify the prior approval statement. Some of the vehicles listed in the model statement above may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter adapter to engine block mounting area. This may be due to block porosity or a block crack just below the oil filter adapter near the main bearing cap outer bolt.
SSM 547952026-05-08. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine and 2020-2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may be unable to enter electric-only drive modes as expected during normal drive cycles. This may be due to the software within the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). For vehicles with this condition, follow Pinpoint Test I: Battery Isolation/Voltage Stabilization Control Circuit Carry Outance located in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06D and repair the vehicle as necessary. Note that the BISG is on backorder status at the time of this publication and Ford is working to make parts available. Engineering is investigating this concern. Monitor PTS for updates.

This article supersedes TSB 25-2323 to update the Service procedure, Parts list, and add a clarification note about Cost Cap and Prior approval process requirement for vehicles under NVLW. Some of the vehicles listed in the model statement above may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter adapter to engine block mounting area. This may be due to block porosity or a block crack just below the oil filter adapter near the main bearing cap outer bolt.
