Service bulletin TSB 17-2068
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2016-2017 Edge, Escape, Expedition, Fiesta, Flex, MKC, MKT, MKX, Mustang, Navigator and Taurus or 2017 Explorer and Super Duty vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and built on 1-Jul-2015 and through 31-Dec-2016 may exhibit a SYNC display message of Please check your surroundings for safety along with no rear view camera image when in reverse gear. This will occur only at ambient temperatures ranging from -5 Å'C to 5 Å'C (23 Å'F to 41 Å'F). This maybe due to a temperature dependent issue within the APIM crystal oscillator circuitry. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

| SSM 51263 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2023 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress. |
| SSM 51248 | 2023-01-05. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2020 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019-2020 Nautilus, 2018-2021 Expedition/Navigator, and 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair/Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit an inoperative power liftgate. This may be due to the rear gate trunk module (RGTM) software. To correct the condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB 19-2273 | 2019-10-04. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles may experience an inoperative rear parking aid camera, luggage compartment lamp, luggage compartment lid release and/or poor satellite radio reception. This may be due to damage to the 14A005 harness in the area of the right side luggage compartment lid hinge. This concern may be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B115E, C1001, and B1A89. To resolve the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect and repair the wiring harness. |
| SSM 48103 | 2019-08-07. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2017 Expedition/Navigator front and rear bumper parking aid sensor harnesses FL7Z-15K867-A and BL7Z-15K868-A are currently not available. It is recommended that dealers repair or rebuild these harnesses until harnesses become available. For harness FL7Z-15K867-A, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C1428, C1429, C1430, and C1431 (front parking sensor connectors), use CU2Z-14S411-MA pigtail kits for C1322, C1323, C1750 and C1751 (fog lights and DRLs), and CU2Z-14S411-ADA for C110 (bumper-to-body harness). For the BL7Z-15K868-A harness, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C4009, C4010, C4011, and C4012 (rear parking sensors), use FU2Z-14S411-DB for C494 (bumper-to-body harness). For unused/open cavities, cut the pigtail wire 1" from the connector and use heat shrink to seal the wire to prevent water entry. |
| SSM 46947 | 2018-01-29. Service bulletin. Some 2016-2017 Ford and Lincoln vehicles with SYNC 3 may intermittently display an overhead image of a vehicle in the center of the SYNC touchscreen with no obstacle detection grids or warning chimes. SYNC may appear unresponsive when the overhead vehicle image is displayed. The vehicle image may intermittently display after shifting out of reverse or turning the vehicle off when in reverse. SYNC software updates are now available under the OASIS Tab SYNC selection. If an update is available, refer to WSM Section 415-00 and update the APIM software. For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual. |
| SSM 46862 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. Some owners of 2013-2018 Escape vehicles may complain of the rear license plate viewed in the lower portion of the display screen when using the parking aid camera. This is due to the convex camera lens to provide as much viewing angle as possible. This is a normal vehicle characteristic and no repairs or adjustments should be attempted to correct this condition. |
| SSM 46320 | 2017-03-15. Service bulletin. SOME 2016-2017 MKX VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT VIEW CAMERA AND BUILT ON OR BEFORE 25-NOV-2016 MAY EXHIBIT A FRONT VIEW CAMERA THAT STAYS DEPLOYED IN PARK, IS SLOW TO RETRACT WHEN SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL, DEPLOYS WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR DRIVE TO PARK, AND/OR DEPLOYS DURING A REMOTE START. TO CORRECT THE CONDITION, UPDATE THE IMAGE PROCESSING MODULE B (IPM-B) TO THE LATEST LEVEL CALIBRATION USING IDS VERSION 103.05 OR HIGHER. MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET WHEN ENTERING MODULE PROGRAMMING TO OBTAIN THE LATEST UPDATES. CALIBRATION FILES MAY ALSO BE OBTAINED AT WWW.MOTORCRAFTSERVICE.COM. FOR CLAIMING, USE CAUSAL PART 19H405 AND APPLICABLE LABOR OPERATION(S) IN SECTION 10 OF THE SERVICE LABOR TIME STANDARDS (SLTS) MANUAL. |
