Service bulletins for the 2018 Mazda Mazda6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some customers may complain about one or more warning lights ON when they start the vehicle during hot weather. The following DTC is stored in memory: U3000:98 - Forward sensing camera (FSC) stops functioning due to temporary high temperature. The combination of warning lights mentioned by the customer may include: SCBS/SBS LAS/LDWS HBC Master Warning Light Instrument Cluster Multi-Information Display (if equipped) warning messages may include: Forward Smart City Brake Support Malfunction. Smart Brake System Malfunction. Front Camera Sensor System Malfunction. MAZDA CONNECT center display warning messages may include: High Beam Control [HBC] / Lane-keep Assist System [LAS] Malfunction. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer if this indicator stays on. Smart City Brake Support [SCBS] Malfunction. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer immediately. Note: The center display Warning Messages are only displayed when the customer selects Applications>Vehicle Status Monitor>Warning Guidance>Warnings. This condition may be caused by the FSC not being durable enough in high temperatures. [Earlier production Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3 and CX-5 until summer 2017] The warning lights may stay on and these functions are deactivated until the ignition switch is turned off. Both U3000:98 (FSC) and U3000:04 (FSC) are stored. U3000:04 - Forward sensing camera (FSC) internal malfunction. If only U3000:04 (FSC) is stored, this TSB does not apply. This condition may be caused by FSC control logic that is too sensitive. When the FSC detects DTC U3000:98 during high temperature, it stops the internal communication and stores DTC U3000:04. DTC U3000:04 will not clear and SCBS/SBS, LAS/LDWS, and/or HBC functions will not resume until the ignition switch has been turned OFF even if the temperature of the FSC cools. |

| SA-024-18 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. | 01-013-18-3478 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit the check engine light on with DTC P0456 stored in the PCM memory. P0456: EVAP system leak detected (very small leak)The concern is most likely the result of the customer not getting the fuel cap completely closed after fuelingthe vehicle. This causes a small fuel vapor leak and turns DTC P0456 on. |
| 01-012-18-3474 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored inmemory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed. P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display "F0-002" during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km). Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure. |
