Service bulletins for the 2015 Mazda Mazda6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| MT-001-20 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal Workshop Manual diagnosis. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Ask the customer if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Below are a couple of examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |
| SA-009-20 | 2020-01-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; STRUCTURE. LACK OF POWER UNDER HEAVY LOAD WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OR DTCS: Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system. |
| 01-002-20-3678 | 2020-01-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored in memory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed.• P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem • P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display “F0-002” during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km).Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure. |
| 09-003-20-3671 | 2020-01-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. In accordance with Federal regulations, follow the procedure listed below when replacing a speedometer. NOTE: Tampering with a motor vehicle odometer is strictly prohibited by Federal, and State laws. It is the dealer’s responsibility to comply with Federal, State, and local laws concerning odometer and related documentation requirements when providing a repair or replacement. • Mazda vehicles are manufactured with tamper-proof speedometers. • When a speedometer is replaced, the new speedometer will read zero (0) miles. • This procedure is extremely important to accurately represent actual vehicle mileage. • Prior to speedometer removal, complete the information required on the “Speedometer Replacement Label”. Labels can only be ordered through Mazda eStore. • In an effort to achieve a higher level of Customer Experience and retain the value of Mazda’s vehicles, MNAO Warranty Operations is allowing all Mazda dealers to utilize a third party, SPECMO Enterprises, Inc., for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) odometer setting service. With the use of SPECMO’s services, it is possible that the odometer will be set between 10 to 31 miles over the odometer mileage at the time of replacement for both warranty and customer pay repairs. Please make sure that the customer is aware that there may be a slight variance to the odometer, in which case the customer may have to accept the slightly higher mileage. Since odometer setting service is not part of the warranty repair, it is not warrantable nor required, but optional. However, Mazda Warranty policy provides after- warranty assistance (AWA) or DSA that can be utilized to cover this service expense. |
| MT-004-19 | 2019-11-24. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about: • Intermittent engine no start • Instrument cluster red security indicator light ON • Engine Start/Start Button Amber indicator light flashing • Battery discharge • Electrical relay buzzing noise • DTC B13D3:94 (Communication error with remote transmitter) stored. This may be caused by: • A key in a purse near a cell phone. The cell phone radio waves may interrupt the immobilizer system. • An aftermarket cell phone charger. The charger may produce electrical noise that interrupts the immobilizer system. • An aftermarket GPS tracker. Some aftermarket devices that are wired to the vehicles’s wiring harness may create unusual electrical symptoms. |
| SA-048-19 | 2019-11-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may expierience one or more of the following: • intermittent no start • engine stall • many DTC's stored • no communication with the PCM. This may be caused by a poor C-11 or C-12 electrical connection. |
| 09-031-19-3625 | 2019-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. After the installation of a new instrument cluster, the message "Fctry" or “Factory” is displayed instead of the odometer. This concern may also occur when a room fuse is installed in a new vehicle. Some new instrument clusters are in the factory mode setting. Factory mode cancellation is required. NOTE: The concern is applicable to Calsonic Kansei instrument clusters. Not all trim levels are affected. |
| 09-010-19-3624 | 2019-08-15. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience one or more electrical malfunctions after a vehicle body repair. The newly painted fender stay (2) may be causing a poor front harness (1) ground connection. The front fender stay (2) newly painted surface at ground point (3), where attachment bolt (4) is seated, may create a poor front harness ground connection. Customers concern can be resolved by sanding off paint at ground point (3) where attachment bolt (4) is seated. After installing the bolt (4), apply touch-up paint to the exposed base material area of the front fender stay. |
| SA-029-19 | 2019-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Due to a database error discovered with IDS 114.00-114.02 release (which affects Recall 3719F), it will be necessary to uninstall IDS 114 and install IDS 113.00 and 113.06 update. The Recall can be performed after removing IDS 114 and installing IDS 113. This SA will be updated when more information is available. |
| 01-008-19-3568a | 2019-04-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some customer using “Flexible” setting for Oil Change in the maintenance monitor may notice that the oil change due notification will not work due to improper control logic of the PCM. The PCM clears the TRAVELED DISTANCE at the wrong time while the ELAPSED DAYS and the DETERIORATION DETERMINATION work as designed. To correct this issue, the control logic of the PCM has been changed. |
| 09-010-19-3577 | 2019-03-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience one or more electrical malfunctions after a vehicle body repair. The newly painted fender stay (2) may be causing a poor front harness (1) ground connection. |
| 05-001-19-3538 | 2019-03-11. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION. When pressing the START/STOP button in very cold weather, the ignition may not turn off on some vehicles equipped with a lock release button (1) on the selector lever knob. Although the selector lever is in the "P" position and the engine shuts off normally, the ignition may stay on (in accessory mode). NOTE: This TSB only applies if the selector lever knob is BHN2-46-030* or BHN4-46-030* with the lock release button. If not, this TSB does not apply. This may be caused by the lock release button in the selector lever knob sticking in the pressed position. An improper production process is causing an internal part to expand with moisture and interfere with other parts. To eliminate this concern, the production process has been modified. |

Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code. NOTE: A Warranty Code is required for warranty claim submission Battery Identification (Mazda batteries have 2 rating types) 1. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard): JIS codes are six-digit alpha-numeric markings molded into the top of the battery to identify a battery by the capacity (amps), dimensions, and battery terminal type. Vehicles manufactured in Japan come from the factory with a JIS rated battery. NOTE: Replacement batteries may use a CCA rating. If so, use the CCA rating listed on the battery. 2. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps):CCA ratings are normally located on a sticker affixed to the top of the battery to indicate a battery's Cold Cranking Amps. CCA rated batteries are supplied with domestically produced vehicles. NOTE: If an incorrect CCA rating is entered into the Mazda GR8-1291, it will result in a false result and invalid Warranty Code from the tester. This will also result in unnecessary replacement of batteries. |
