Service bulletins for the 2023 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

329 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

09-038-232023-12-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may complain about the poor appearance due to an uneven rear beltline molding joint. This concern is caused by the rear beltline molding not being manufactured according to the original designed shape. To eliminate this concern, the rear beltline molding manufacturing process was improved to prevent form shape discrepancies from the original design.
09-007-23c2023-12-05. Service bulletin. SEATS. At PDI or when new vehicle is delivered, some customers may complain about wrinkles on the leather seat cushion and/or seat back surface.
05-005-23a2023-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some vehicles may exhibit a chirp noise (stick-slip noise) from the automatic transaxle (AT) when shifting from 3 to 4 while driving. This may be caused by the automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) being contaminated by iron powder due to excessive wearing of the lock up clutch in the torque converter.
01-007-23a2023-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The Mazda DCA-8000 is required for all warranty battery testing. If the Mazda DCA-8000 is not used, incorrect battery testing may result in unnecessary battery replacement. Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code.
SA-032-23a2023-11-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.
05-005-232023-11-01.
01-010-23a2023-11-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain about engine surging 100-200 rpm when accelerating up a hill at altitudes around 6,700 feet or higher. This concern may be caused by improper PCM control software in particular situations. To eliminate this concern, the PCM control software has been modified.
SA-009-23i2023-11-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT. Some customers may complain about any of the following: 1. Infotainment Center Display does not provide the Authorization Code (OTP) during the MyMazda App Connected Vehicle enrollment. 2. Remote function(s) inoperative. Engine Start / Stop, Door Lock / Unlock, Lights ON / OFF
SA-042-23a2023-11-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). Some customers may complain about the Active Driving Display not displaying turn by turn (TBT) travel direction or navigation information.
SA-059-232023-11-01. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When the power windows are operated many times without being fully closed, small errors of the window position sensor may accumulate and cause improper operation of the jam-safe function. To reduce the risk of this occurrence, the AUTO function is disabled if the power window is operated 10 consecutive times without being fully closed (turning the ignition OFF and then ON does not reset the counting). If the power window is fully closed before the 10th time, the counting restarts and the AUTO function is not deactivated.
SA-058-232023-11-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience the rear subwoofer audio sound pauses at volume level 38 and above and the condition is most pronounced with high base setting +3 - +9. This may be cause by an infotainment software error.
SA-068-232023-11-01. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS. Some vehicles may have a water leak and/or a technician may find water inside the cabin or within a component. The source of the leak may be from between the doors at the B-pillar. To correct this concern, there was a mass production change (MPC) on January 14, 2021 to reduce the gap (as seen in the image below).
SA-039-23a2023-10-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection.
SA-003-23a2023-10-05. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles exhibit brake related concerns such as brake noise, brake judder or brake dragging. If you encounter a customer complaint for any one of these symptoms, refer to the following information to understand why symptoms may occur, and to better assist the customer in resolving their specific brake concern.
SA-055-232023-10-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. A New Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF-A7) is being used for some 2023 and 2024 models. ATF-A7 is an extremely low viscosity formulation with low friction to achieve best-in-class fuel economy and driving performance.
PF-23-092023-10-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. MNAO has recently found an increase in non-returned cores within the United Radio (UR) exchange program. As a reminder, dealers have 90 days, after the order is placed, to return the exchanged part. Failure to return the exchanged part will result in a debit of the full component price. It is highly recommended to set a calendar reminder at the time of the order for no more than 60 days to ensure all orders are returned if repaired and if not repaired, contact the customer to cancel the order and return the unit.
09-033-232023-10-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit that the glass run channel of the front door interferes with the rear door garnish. Since the front door glass run channel is not fixed to the door strongly enough for the following situations, cycles of door operation may result in interference and lead to damage on the seal rubber at the rear door. When the front door glass is closed, the glass run channel may be forced to move to the B pillar side. In very hot climates, the glass run channel may expand to the B pillar side.
04-002-23c2023-10-05. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Symptom 1: Some customers may complain about hearing a grinding noise and/or vibration occur when applying the brake. This is due to rust on the rear brake disc plate. Symptom 2: Some vehicles may exhibit a squeal noise from the rear brakes when braking lightly while driving at a slow speed. The squeal noise is caused by the disk pad surface fluctuating.
