This information will give you the necessary knowledge to respond to customers concerns of Smart Brake Support (SBS) unintended braking. By educating the customer on the system operation, it should reduce their anxiety or distrust of the vehicle.
SA-052-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY. Some customers may complain that their interior rear view mirror fell off and/or will not stay in place after it is reinstalled. This is due to some mirrors having lower tension on the retaining clips. To eliminate this concern, there was a change in production
16-004-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain that Mazda Connect does not start or that it takes a long time to restart after starting the vehicle. This is caused by the initialization process with the CMU failing at startup due to a defective circuit board element. To eliminate this concern, the internal hardware of the CMU has been improved.
16-001-22c2022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 7000C0A-NA01_12002 or later).
09-034-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about a fuel gauge that fluctuates to a higher level at a stop on inclines, even after a long drive since it was fully refilled. This is caused by improper control software of the body control module (BCM). To eliminate this concern, the control software of the BCM has been modified.
09-028-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit the glass run channel of the front door interfering with the rear door garnish. This is caused by the front door glass run channel not being fixed strongly enough to the door for the following situations where the cycles of door operation may result in interference and lead to damage on the rear door garnish. - When the front door glass is closed, the glass run channel may be forced to move to the B pillar side. - During very hot weather, the glass run channel may expand to the B pillar side. To eliminate this concern, the design of the front door glass run channel has been changed to be fixed stronger to the door.
09-027-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When replacing the body control module (BCM), some ECUs may need reprogramming. Without reprogramming the concerned ECUs, the power saving function may not work properly.
09-025-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may exhibit a rear console lid with a sticking feeling or a squeaking noise when opening and/or closing. This is caused by an inappropriate shape of the console lid hinge pin where the position of the hinge pin (1) becomes misaligned when the rear console lid is repeatedly opened and closed. When parts around the hinge pin thermally expand, the result creates a gap in the hinge of the rear console lid. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the hinge pin has been modified to prevent the pin from coming off.
09-004-22a2022-09-06. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some CX-5 and CX-30 customers may find that the liftgate does not close when pressing the power liftgate (PLG) rear switch located on the interior liftgate trim. This may be caused by PLG switch corrosion. Water from a high pressure car washer and/or condensation may drip onto the switch connector and cause corrosion. To eliminate this concern, the PLG rear switch has been modified with a waterproof connector. Some Mazda3, CX-30 and MX-30 customers may complain that the vehicle door locking system does not work when the door lock switch on the liftgate interior trim is pressed. DTC B11C4:23 (BCM - liftgate lock switch circuit malfunction) may be stored. This may be caused during a high pressure car wash and/or condensation. Water may enter through the rear center brand emblem base component and drip onto the switch connector causing corrosion. The rusted connector may also cause a battery drain. To eliminate this concern, the rear center brand emblem base has been modified to prevent water entry (Mazda3) and the rear harness has been modified to prevent water infiltration (Mazda3, CX-30 and MX-30).
08-001-22c2022-09-06. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS. Some vehicles may exhibit that the air bag warning light turns on or repeats cycles of turning on and off with DTC B1126:13 and/or B1127:13 stored in memory. - B1126:13 - Driver-side side air bag module circuit open circuit or resistance high - B1127:13 - Passenger-side side air bag module circuit open circuit or resistance high This issue is caused by any of the following: - When the driver or passenger moves, a load is applied to the seat back and the load may cause displacement of the mating terminals in the side air bag module connector, resulting in insufficient contact and higher resistance. - The DTC detection level is too sensitive. - The form of the female terminals in the side air bag module connector may cause insufficient contact and higher resistance. To eliminate these concerns, the DTC detection level of the SAS control module has been optimized.
01-009-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience a no start because the battery is discharged after the vehicle is parked for more than 8 hours. This may be caused by one or more of the following, resulting in excessive parasitic draw (dark current) on the battery. 1. The vehicle control system may not have gone to sleep because a key fob was left in the vehicle after the ignition switch was turned off and the doors were closed. This is caused by improper BCM control logic which allows a higher parasitic draw (approx. 6A) to continue for approximately 6 minutes until the vehicle control system goes into sleep mode. If the doors are operated frequently for car washing or luggage loading/unloading etc., it prevents the vehicle control system from sleeping during that time. 2. The parking lights may have been left on because the warning sound for lights on is a short ding, and it may not be noticed. 3. [With Full-Auto A/C] The climate control unit may not have gone to sleep because the hazard warning switch was pressed after the ignition was turned off. This is caused by improper control logic of the climate control unit. To correct these concerns: 1. The control software of the body control module (BCM) has been modified to shorten the time until going into the sleep mode to approximately 2 minutes. 2. The control software of the body control module (BCM) has been modified to change the lights on warning sound to a continuous one. 3. The control software of the climate control unit has been modified.
SA-050-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some customers may complain that their liftgate does not open. This can mean a range of things, from the liftgate not unlatching to the power liftgate (PLG) not opening automatically. If you confirm that the customer's concern is that the liftgate does not unlatch correctly, follow the repair information below
SA-051-222022-09-06. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. A customer may complain that they have a brake squeal at the rear brakes.
SA-049-222022-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may exhibit the trim peeling off the EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) or power window switches.
15-004-222022-07-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit the warning messages "Safety and Driver Support Systems Temporarily Disabled" or "Front Radar Obscured. Drive Safely." displayed in the instrument cluster despite no dirt on the front radar sensor while driving in specific locations as follows: - Roads with continuous elevated road ways on one side or tall walls on one side - Inside tunnels with an overall rounded shape - Roads with no reflective objects around This is caused by inappropriate decision logic of the control software in the front radar sensor. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the front radar sensor has been modified.
09-017-22a2022-07-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles may have rust on the contact parts between the clips (for attaching the roof molding) and the roof panel (ditches of the roof rail). This is caused by the gap between the roof molding attachment clips and the roof panel not being wide enough to allow paint to be appropriately applied to the roof panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the roof molding clip has been changed to enable paint application between the clip's rib and roof during the manufacturing process.
06-002-222022-07-06. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some vehicle may exhibit a knocking noise from the steering column while driving. This may be caused by a gap between the intermediate shaft (upper side) and the joint bolt. To eliminate this concern, the intermediate shaft and the joint bolts have been modified to reduce backlash.
01-006-222022-07-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This service bulletin provides testing and charging procedures in order to promote proper battery maintenance, to deliver new vehicles with fully charged batteries, and to reduce unnecessary battery replacement cost.
