Service bulletins for the 2025 Mazda CX-90

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

CSP14 Owner Ltr2026-05-04. Warranty extension. SERVICE BRAKES. Dear Mazda Owner: You are receiving this notice because Mazda’s records indicate that you have a 2024-2026 Mazda CX-90 vehicle manufactured before November 19, 2025. Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a Customer Service Program CSP (14) to inform you that Mazda is expanding the scope of coverage under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty to provide necessary repairs free of charge if your Covered Vehicle has experienced rear brake squeal and to inform you that you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for past out-of-pocket expenses you previously incurred for repairs on the terms and conditions as described below. Repair parts are not currently available. It is expected that parts will become available in May 2026. Another letter will be sent to you once parts are available to repair your vehicle with instructions for making an appointment at your nearest Mazda dealer. Warranty Coverage Expansion Mazda is expanding the scope of coverage under the standard 3 years/36,000 miles, whichever comes first, warranty to provide necessary repairs at no cost to you if your Covered Vehicle experiences rear brake squeal. If your Covered Vehicle is currently experiencing rear brake squeal, you will be eligible for a one-time rear brake pads replacement with Mazda’s redesigned brake pads. A dealer must inspect and confirm your Covered Vehicle is experiencing rear brake squeal matching Technical Service Bulletin (“TSB”) 04-003/26 for you to receive the repairs at no cost to you. The TSB is scheduled to be released when the parts are expected to be available. The newly installed redesigned brake pads will be covered for rear brake squeal under your Covered Vehicle’s original limited warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles, or for 1 year/12,000 miles from the installation of the redesigned brake pad, whichever is later. If your Covered Vehicle is currently experiencing rear brake squeal and is more than 3 years old or exceeds 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, you will receive three (3) months, after the Part Available Notice Letter has been sent, to receive the redesigned brake pad under the terms of this notice. Repairs under this warranty extension during the coverage period must be completed at a Mazda dealer. Reimbursement Mazda is offering reimbursement to owners and lessees of a Covered Vehicle who previously incurred out-of-pocket expenses for inspections and repairs to rear brake components caused by rear brake squeal before your vehicle reached 3 years or 36,000 miles from the vehicle’s in-service date (meaning, the start date of the warranty for the vehicle), whichever is earlier (“Eligible Costs”) subject to the following limitations as described in this letter. Repairs completed at a non-Mazda facility after April 2026 as printed in this Owner Letter are not eligible for reimbursement.

02-001-262026-05-03. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some customers may complain that an abnormal noise is heard from the front suspension when driving on rough road surfaces or when passing over speed bumps. This is caused by insufficient heat resistance of the bushing material under specific operating conditions, resulting in cracking and fluid leakage in the front lower arm bushing. To eliminate this concern: The bushing material has been changed to a heat-resistant material. The bushing shape has been modified to reduce deformation. The damping characteristics of the front lower arm bushing have been modified. REPAIR PROCEDURE If noise is detected, replace the front lower arm (rear side) according to the instructions in MGSS.
SA-020-262026-04-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. SA-015/25 03/10/25 DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may exhibit poor hands-free liftgate operation after a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch accessory installation. IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a vehicle equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch. NOTE: Hands-free function can be switched on/off by using MAZDA CONNECT Settings --> Vehicle Settings --> Doors --> Hands-Free Liftgate.
SA-014-262026-04-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE. This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA(s) and TSB(s) listed below: The changes are noted in Red. SA-035/24 05/31/24 DESCRIPTION There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Alert is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not. A mechanical seal (A) is used for the water pump. This mechanical seal can seal coolant (B) by sliding a mating ring (C) against a seal ring (D). When the sliding surface temperature of the mechanical seal is more than 248 °F (120 °C) while driving, a small amount of steam (E) is leaked and bleeds through the bleeding hole (F). After drying, the steam leaves a green coolant deposit near the water pump bleed hole (F). This is a normal condition and does not require water pump replacement. The water pump should only be replaced if there is an accumulation of crystallized coolant near the bleed hole. When you encounter a water pump with coolant seepage marks, decide to replace it or not based on the following criteria using sample photos. NOTE: During the initial period of use*, the sliding surfaces of the seals may not yet be fully settled, which can temporarily increase the amount of leakage. Continued use will allow the surfaces to settle, reducing the leakage. Replacing parts that are already settled with new ones will increase the leakage again until the new parts become conditioned. Therefore, replacement should be avoided in this initial period of use. *As a guideline, this applies to vehicles with less than 1,860 miles (3000 km) of mileage.

SA-010-262026-03-04. Service bulletin. SEATS. This Service Alert supersedes the previously issued SA(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. SA-063/23 10/16/23 Customers may report issues with third-row seats, loose or damaged trim, not folding down, binding when folding up, and other concerns. The technician may notice the cargo floor is out of place and may attempt to replace parts as defective. This is due to the cargo floor being uneven and/or foreign objects stuck between the third-row seats and cargo floor.
SA-007-262026-03-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE. On some vehicles, an engine oil leak from the rear of the engine at the turbocharger drain back tube could be be confused as an oil leak from behind the bell housing. The bolt holes for the drain back tube to the block are drilled through to the inside of the engine and thread sealer was not properly applied to the bolts threads, causing oil to leak past the threads. NOTE: The WSM was updated to show these bolts are a to be replaced if removed. New bolts will have thread sealer already applied.
09-011-262026-03-03. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 09-019/25 04/15/25 Some vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) may exhibit the exterior light warning light/exterior light warning indication on while driving or when the ignition is turned on and DTC B10A3:86 (Error signal received from swivel actuator (LH)) stored in memory. NOTE: The combination light with AFS can be distinguished if it is equipped with the parking light/daytime running light (DRL) that illuminates while the ignition is turned on. This may be caused by the AFS Control Module detecting a false headlight malfunction. This concern will likely occur when the light returns to the center position after swiveling. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the AFS control module has been further modified.
09-009-262026-03-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles exhibit creaking noise from the left side power liftgate (PLG) drive unit when moving (opening/closing) the power liftgate by hand and /or automatically. The noise tends to occur during moving, particularly at the start of opening or closing. As the condition progresses, it may be accompanied by functional issues such as increased operating effort, a “hard to move” feeling, or the PLG stops partway during opening or closing.
09-008-262026-03-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. This bulletin supersedes the previously issued bulletin(s) listed below. The changes are noted in Red. 09-021/25 04/23/25 Some customers may complain about a creaking noise coming from the door area when driving on rough roads. This may be caused by a stick-slip occuring as plastic components of the door latch deform due to external forces applied from the striker to the latch and actuator.
01-005-262026-03-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some vehicles may exhibit green residue (yellow circle) on the outer surface of the coolant reserve tank, which appears to be coolant blowback. This is caused by coolant seeping out and appearing as leakage from small pores (slight gaps) formed due to the deterioration of the coolant reserve tank (sub) material. To eliminate this concern, the material of the coolant reserve tank (sub) will be modified.

SA-005-262026-02-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank. A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method • B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method 2019 and newer models require a 10-digit key code to accurately cut keys • 5-digit codes CANNOT be provided for 2019 and newer vehicles (the traditional 5-digit code from the key tag or driver's door lock cylinder is not sufficient and will not be issued for key cutting on these models). • Only Mazda-approved key cutting machines can process these 10-digit codes. • Many older key machines do not support 10-digit codes and cannot be updated to do so. In these cases, dealers will need to purchase one of the newer Mazda-approved key cutting machines capable of handling this requirement. • For a list of current Mazda-approved machines and purchasing options, refer to the Mazda Dealer Equipment Program or view the current Mazda approved key machines below.
