Be advised that the Mazda Remanufactured Transmission Center (MRTC) has found that up to 30% of the returned transmission cores either included the wrong transmission oil cooler, or the oil cooler was missing altogether. IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS REMEMBER TO INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL OIL COOLER WITH THE RETURNED TRANSMISSION CORE! |
| SA-053-19 | 2019-12-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. GUIDE LINES AND PHOTOS TO DETERMINE IF FLUID/OIL SEEPAGE OR LEAK IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO REQUIRE WARRANTY REPAIR OR TO CLEAN AND MONITOR. Some customer's might state that they notice fluid or oil leaking/dripping on the ground when the vehicle is parked. For this concern, inspect the vehicle for any trace of a fluid or oil leak and use the following examples as a guide to determine if it is severe enough to require a repair, or just to clean the area and monitor it at the next service. |
| 05-004-19-3466 | 2019-05-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738). P0842:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 1 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0847:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 2 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0872:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 3 (oil pressure switch A) stuck on P0877:00 - Oil pressure switch No. 4 (oil pressure switch B) stuck on P0780:00 - Gear shifting malfunction P1738:00 - Automatic transaxle internal malfunction This is caused by the oil pressure switch A and/or B at the control valve body temporarily or permanently getting stuck due to contamination entering the passage. To correct the problem, some mass production changes have been implemented to reduce contamination and improve the DTC diagnostic logic. NOTE: If the vehicle also has a delayed engagement concern, this TSB is not applicable. Refer to the instructions on MGSS (SLOW ENGAGING AFTER OPERATING SELECTOR LEVER FROM N TO D POSITION [FW6A-EL/FW6AX-EL]) or (SLOW ENGAGING AFTER OPERATING SELECTOR LEVER FROM N TO D POSITION [EW6A-EL/EW6AX-EL]) for proper diagnosis and repair procedure. |
| SA-037-18 | 2018-09-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. Service part Automatic Transaxles (ATX) manufactured on or after July, 2018 are shipped with a blank TCM that requires configuration. |
| 05-002-18-3454 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The new SKYACTIV-DRIVE FW6A-EL AT uses "Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Type: FZ". Only use"ATF-FZ" to fill or top off the fluid level. ATF-FZ is specially designed for use in the SKYACTIV-DRIVE series AT. It is a low viscosity formula with less friction for better fuel economy. NOTE: ATF-FZ is colored blue for easy identification. |
| 01-003-18-3421 | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; POWER TRAIN. Some customers may experience a lack of power with no warning lights illuminated and no related DTCs stored. This concern most likely occurs when the fuel temperature is high and during situations where high power is required. This concern may be caused when the learning value for the low pressure fuel pump exceeds a certain level and the PCM limits engine power to avoid a lack of fuel injection. Even if the low pressure fuel pump has a problem, no DTCs are stored. To eliminate this concern, the PCM control logic has been modified not to limit engine power. After this modification, DTCs P0192:00 or P0087:00 are stored when the fuel injection amount is insufficient. P0192:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit low input P0087:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit range/performance problem. |
| 01-009-17-3377a | 2018-02-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some customers may experience a lack of power when driving. The master warning light or the check engine light turns on and DTC P130C:00 and U0401:00 (ABS) stored in memory. It occurs mostly at low temperatures. Once the ignition is turned off and on, the concern may disappear. NOTE: DTC P130C:00 may not be found upon M-MDS self test since this DTC is detected when the condition occurs in two drive cycles in a row. The PCM turns the master warning light on during the first drive cycle, then stores a pending DTC. The master warning light and check engine light come on in the second drive cycle as a confirmation of the DTC. The engine power is limited by the fail-safe function both in the first and second drive cycles. DTC P130C:00 - (Pre-ignition detected), DTC U0401:00- (ABS) (Signal error from PCM) Improper control logic of the PCM detects a normal operating noise as a knocking noise. To eliminate this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been changed. |
| 02-007-17-3337b | 2018-02-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; SUSPENSION. Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following noises from the front suspension: 1. A creaking noise from under the front of the vehicle (front lower arm bushing) when driving over bumps atapproximate 12 - 25 mph (20 - 40 Km/h). The noise occurs when the road surface is wet or after the vehicle has been washed. The noise becomes more noticeable as the bumps get higher. The creaking noise is caused by the front lower arm bushing (A) making a stick-slip noise during wet road conditions. 2. A clunking noise from the front coil spring when driving over bumps. The clunking noise is due to stick-slip between the front strut bearing (B) and the coil spring (C). 3. A popping noise from the bump stopper (D) when driving through gutters. To eliminate the noise, the following mass-production changes have been made: 1. The coating treatment of the lower arm bushing has been changed to reduce friction and prevent stick-slip. 2. Protectors have been installed onto the coil springs to prevent stick-slip. 3. No mass-production change is scheduled for the bump stopper, however, a modified service part has been established. |
| 01-010-17-3378 | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some vehicles may experience DTC P064A stored in the PCM memory. There is no drivability concern and a technician may find this DTC during diagnosis for another concern. P064A:00 - (Fuel Pump Control Module Error). [Detection Condition] The difference between the actual fuel pressure and the target fuel pressure is 10 kPa {0.10 kgf/cm2, 1.5 psi} or more, even though the fuel pressure feedback amount on the low pressure side remains high. [Diagnosis Support Note] ? This is a continuous monitor (other). ? The check engine light does not illuminate. ? FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available. ? Snapshot data is available. ? DTC is stored in the PCM memory. The DTC may be set by an inadequate detection logic. To eliminate this concern, the detection function of DTC P064A has been disabled. |
| MT-014-17 | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Whenever you are reprogramming a PCM or any other module, always use the GR8 Battery Charger in the Power Supply mode to prevent the battery from discharging. |
