Service bulletins for the 2018 Mazda CX-5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

09-032-19-35792019-08-21. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION. Some customers may experience improper operation of the rear parking system with beep sounds coming from the rear parking sensor when there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. This occurs when the blower fan is on (at any fan speed) and the transmission is in "R" position. The concern is caused by electrical noise from the blower fan controller circuit affecting the rear parking sensor circuit. To eliminate this concern, the harness to the rear parking sensor has been twisted to improve its tolerance to electrical noise.
09-031-19-36252019-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. After the installation of a new instrument cluster, the message "Fctry" or “Factory” is displayed instead of the odometer. This concern may also occur when a room fuse is installed in a new vehicle. Some new instrument clusters are in the factory mode setting. Factory mode cancellation is required. NOTE: The concern is applicable to Calsonic Kansei instrument clusters. Not all trim levels are affected.
09-020-19-3524a2019-08-15. Service bulletin. SEATS. Some customer may complain of warping on the driver and/or passenger side seat cushion trim, which may cause poor appearance complaints. This is caused by a gap between the leather seat surface and the seat cushion pad due to insufficient tension on the seat trim. To eliminate this concern, a non-woven fabric has been attached to the backside of the seat trim to increase tension.
09-010-19-36242019-08-15. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience one or more electrical malfunctions after a vehicle body repair. The newly painted fender stay (2) may be causing a poor front harness (1) ground connection. The front fender stay (2) newly painted surface at ground point (3), where attachment bolt (4) is seated, may create a poor front harness ground connection. Customers concern can be resolved by sanding off paint at ground point (3) where attachment bolt (4) is seated. After installing the bolt (4), apply touch-up paint to the exposed base material area of the front fender stay.
01-015-19-36262019-08-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may experience a lack of power and the check engine light on with DTC P061B:00 stored in PCM memory under one of the following conditions (A or B). DTC P061B:00 - [PCM] Internal control module torque calculation performance problem. Due to an improper control logic of the PCM, the engine torque calculation error detection is too sensitive. 07-002-19-36162019-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. A musty/mildew type odor may come from the vents when the air conditioning (A/C) system is operating. It is most noticeable when the A/C is first turned ON. This odor is the result of mold growth in the A/C evaporator/cooling unit which is caused by condensation, dust, and pollen within the cooling unit. This condition is usually worse during high humidity conditions. "Mazda Air Cooling Coil Coating" is available to encapsulate the mold to reduce odors. If the product is properly applied, it can effectively reduce the musty/mildew odor for up to three years.
01-013-19-36052019-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may experience both the check engine light and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) warning light illuminating at the same time. This concern may be caused by lower and/or higher pressures that are detected, which are caused by micro air bubbles that remain inside the urea tank. The micro air bubbles are created at the production line when the liquid (urea) is poured quickly into the urea tank. To eliminate this concern, the pump filter will be modified to reduce any remaining micro air bubbles.
01-011-19-3586a2019-08-01. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM).
