Service bulletin 04-003-19-3589a
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some vehicles may experience the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TPMS warning light both ON with DTC C0051:62 stored in memory. DTC C0051:62 - The difference between the initial learned value of the steering angle (as calculated by each sensor) and the steering angle (as calculated by the steering angle sensor) while driving in a straight line, has exceeded its allowable tolerance (or threshold). NOTE: For vehicles equipped with the Smart City Brake System (SCBS), the master warning light also comes ON with the message "SCBS Inspection Required" in the display. The symptoms may occur when the following conditions are met: After starting the engine, the vehicle is driven backwards while the steering wheel is turned to the left or to the right or going forward over a bump while turning the steering wheel. The vehicle is then driven forward and begins accelerating while the steering wheel is still turned. To eliminate this concern, the DSC HU/CM software has been changed.

| SA-073-17 | 2021-03-08. Service bulletin. Mazda is incorporating a "Direct" type TPMS, which is unlike the previous "Indirect" type system. With the "Direct" type TPMS........ ? there is no TPMS switch on the dashboard. It is no longer needed. ? the wheel sensors activate after detecting tire rotation. ? the wheel sensors transmit data to the vehicle at a rate of once per minute. ? the vehicle must be driven at 16 mph or more for two (2) minutes or more to obtain IDS readings. ? it is necessary to complete the diagnosis before turning the ignition OFF, otherwise, the data will be deleted. |

| MT-002-20 | 2020-09-02. Service bulletin. New CARB regulation regarding mandatory checking and documenting of tire pressure whenever a vehicle is in for service work. This applies to all service shops (including Mazda dealerships) in California effective September 1, 2010. |
| 04-003-19-3589 | 2019-05-03. Service bulletin. Some vehicles may experience the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TPMS warning light both ON with DTC C0051:62 stored in memory. | MT-010-18 | 2018-12-17. Service bulletin. Some vehicles (with MAZDA CONNECT) may exhibit a condition where DTC U0323(PCM) / U0423(ABS) /U3000(IC) CANNOT be deleted when the TPMS warning light flashes and/or the TCS/DSC indicator lights are illuminated. This can happen if the ignition is turned OFF within 20 seconds after the ignition is turned ON in one of the following two situations. 1. The ?ROOM? fuse (Engine compartment) is NOT installed when battery level is low. 2. The CMU (Connectivity Master Unit) is NOT connected. |
| 02-011-18-3476 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. This service bulletin illustrates the conditions when a TPMS warning light may illuminate, why it illuminated and how to properly initialize the system. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) monitors the tire pressure of all four tires indirectly using the data sent from the ABS wheel speed sensors. If the air pressure of one or more tires is too low compared with the specified value (the initial value learned by the system), the system warns the driver with the TPMS warning light in the instrument cluster and a beep sound. To allow the TPMS to operate correctly, it is essential that the TPMS be initialized to learn new conditions whenever a tire related service is performed. |
| 02-009-18-3472 | 2018-07-02. Service bulletin. Customer complaints have been reported where the TPMS warning light is unnecessarily illuminated because the TPMS initialization was not performed correctly before customer delivery.TPMS INITIALIZATION PROCESS: When any of the services below is performed, BE SURE TO INITIALIZE THE TPMS BEFORE DRIVING THE VEHICLE by pushing and holding the TPMS Set Switch on the dash until the TPMS warning light flashes two times and the warning beep sounds once. The TPMS must be initialized in the following cases: 1. Tire pressures have been adjusted in one or more tires. 2. Tires have been rotated. 3. Tires or wheels have been replaced. 4. The vehicle's battery cable has been disconnected for any reason. 5. The vehicle's battery has been discharged. 6. The DSC HU/CM connector has been disconnected for any reason. |
| 02-007-12-2740 | 2017-04-26. Service bulletin. CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED WHERE THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT IS UNNECESSARILY ILLUMINATED BECAUSE THE TPMS INITIALIZATION WAS NOT PERFORMED CORRECTLY BEFORE CUSTOMER DELIVERY. |
| 02-003-12-2688A | 2017-04-26. |
