SSM 484232020-01-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2015-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 484062020-01-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2013-2016 MKZ vehicles equipped with adaptive headlamps may exhibit a Check Headlamp System fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after installation of a new right headlamp. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1D65 may also be stored in the headlamp control module (HCM). This may be due to a quality issue with the right headlamp service part, which was corrected on headlamps built on and after 17-Oct-2019. In addition, some headlamps with Earlier build dates were reworked with corrective actions and may be installed. Reworked headlamp assemblies are identified by having a green dot on the box and/or a green paint mark on the headlamp near the part number label. For claiming, use the headlamp base number as the causal part and applicable labor from the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 483972020-01-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Some 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZ/Escape/MKC with a 1.6L GTDI, 1.5L GTDI, or 2.0L GTDI may exhibit a lack of power, loss of power, or stall when placed in gear with DTCs P00C6, P0087, P008A, P008B, P018C, or P018D. If normal diagnosis leads to a biased or failed Fuel Low Pressure (FLP) sensor, the sensor is available without the need to order the entire fuel line assembly. The FLP sensor, located on the fuel supply line to the high pressure pump, provides the low side fuel pressure input to the PCM so the Fuel Driver Module can be controlled accordingly. The FLP PID can be viewed in the Datalogger and then compared to a manual pressure gauge per pinpoint test HC in the PCED to validate the sensor is working properly. The Fusion/MKZ catalog has been updated to show the sensor availability.

SSM 481302019-09-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR; VISIBILITY. Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
SSM 481232019-09-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.
SSM 481082019-08-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2019 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the body control module (BCM) is internally damaged and requires replacement. The BCM should only be replaced for this condition when the 232 key table error message is present. If the 232 key table error is not present, follow normal diagnostics for the no crank condition. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual.
SSM 480672019-08-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Some 2013-2016 Fusion and MKZ vehicles may not have a valid 5 digit key code stored in the Ford key code retrieval system. If both keys are lost and the original selling dealer does not have the key code on file, a new lock set may be needed. For Fusion IKT (non push-button start) use lock set ES7Z-5422050-A, Fusion push-button start use lock set ES7Z-5422050-B, and for Lincoln MKZ use lock set DP5Z-5422050-A. Kits include pre-cut keys. The push-button start kits come with back-up key blades, but do not include passive key remotes which will need to be ordered separately.
