TSB 22-23092022-08-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT. Some 2013-2017 C-MAX Energi, 2013-2018 Focus battery electric vehicle (BEV), 2013-2020 Fusion plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), 2015-2017 MKZ/MKZ Hybrid/MKC, 2016-2017 MKX and 2017 Continental vehicles equipped with 8 inch or larger center display screen may be unable to complete modem authorization after 3G to 4G modem upgrade was performed. No Authorization Pop-up will be displayed on the center display screen during the Authorization process. The vehicle may also not have proper functionality of remote app features such as remote start, return odometer, fuel information, or vehicle location incorrect in the app. This may be due to the SYNC software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to toggle Valet Mode.

Certain 2014-2020 Model Year Multiple Vehicle Lines 3G Telematics Control Unit to 4G Upgrade Kit The North America 3G cellular service began decommissioning in August 2021 and will be fully decommissioned in February 2022. Vehicles on the road equipped with a 3G telematics control unit (TCU) / embedded modem will lose mobile app functionality/connectivity. Some owners are still within the *complimentary trial period (depending on model year and brand, see table below) for connected services.

SSM 481352019-09-09. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013-2020 vehicles equipped with an EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership (339-EVDC100). Ensure the A/C system has a full charge prior to any compressor diagnostics. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC compressor tool must be used, and the results recorded in the Technician comments field with the warranty claim. This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions.
SSM 480492019-07-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Some 2015-2017 F-150/Mustang, 2015-2018 Edge/MKC, 2016-2018 MKX, 2013-2018 Explorer/Taurus/Flex/MKT, and 2017-2018 Fusion/MKZ/Continental vehicles built on or before 19-Oct-2017 may exhibit an inoperative adaptive cruise control, collision warning, and/or collision avoidance system with a Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Collision Warning Not Available, and/or Adaptive Cruise Fault message present in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:49 present in the cruise control module (CCM). To resolve the condition, reprogram the CCM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. SSM 479962019-06-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2015-2019 MKC vehicles built on or before 01-Apr-2019 may exhibit an air conditioning (A/C) system with a difference in the discharge temperature between the left and right vents. The left vent discharge temperature will usually be warmer than the right vent discharge temperature. Reprogram the front controls interface module (FCIM) using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18842 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Smartlink is a Ford Licensed Accessory which has a warranty provided by the accessory manufacturer. SSM 473922018-07-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. 2015-2019 MKC vehicles are equipped with a satin chrome front grille and roof moldings. If they require cleaning due to stains, water spotting, or discoloring do not use Motorcraft Custom Bright Metal Cleaner which is used for bright chrome components. The following products are recommended for satin chrome components: Meguiar's M02 Mirror Glaze Fine Cut Cleaner (Product #M0216), Meguiar's Water Spot Remover (Product #A3714) or Turtle Wax Renew RX Premium All Metal Polish (SKU T284) or equivalent. Follow the manufacturers cleaning instructions.
SSM 472012018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Replacing the original equipment SYNC/Navigation system with either an aftermarket SYNC/Navigation kit or modifying original SYNC/Navigation parts to provide additional features is not recommended nor supported on any Ford, Mercury or Lincoln vehicle. Only approved Genuine Ford accessories or originally installed systems are supported and certified to function correctly with other vehicle systems. If you suspect a system has been modified, the following resources can be used to verify original equipment: Monroney Label (Window Sticker), Professional Technician Society (PTS) OASIS tab select SYNC or HVBOM. For Genuine Ford accessories use: PTS Workshop Tab select Dealer Installed Accessory or Accessory Installation.
SSM 470802018-05-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. 2010-2018 various vehicles equipped with SYNC or SYNC 3 may not function when attempting to find or use the Spotify app via AppLink. As of an update released on 1/15/2018 Spotify will no longer be supporting their AppLink integration. No repair attempts should be attempted to correct this concern.
SSM 467922017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2015-2018 MKC vehicles equipped with a AC power outlet socket may exhibit a condition with the assembly door becoming disconnected, jammed or locked closed. If the door is disconnected, re-install the end cap and door. Refer to updated Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-05 for correct door/spring position installation. If door is jammed or locked closed, this may be due to the door spring not being properly positioned when the door is installed. Do not try to force the door open as this may cause damage to the door or interfacing components. Remove the floor console rear end cap and dislodge the door by pushing it from the back side of the end cap. Reinstall the end cap and door. Refer to updated WSM, Section 414-05 for the correct door/spring position installation.
SSM 467032017-08-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some 2013-2017 Edge/MKX/Escape/MKC/Fusion/MKZ/Flex/MKT/Mondeo/Kuga/EcoSport AWD vehicles where diagnosis leads to a RDU clutch issue, a rear drive unit (RDU) service kit is available. Use the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the parts catalog to look for base part 4A232. If clutch assembly (base 4A232) is not listed in the catalog, this message does not apply. For vehicle repairs refer to updated Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 205-02 on ATC clutch repairs. Use causal part 4A232 or equivalent and applicable labor operations.
SSM 461052017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2015-2016 MKC, 2016 MKX, and 2016-2017 MKZ vehicles equipped with a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) built on or before 9-Aug-2016 may exhibit loss of functionality of remote features via the MyLincoln Mobile Application. To correct the condition, program the TCU to the latest calibration using IDS version 102.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest calibration. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. For 2015 MKC/MKZ vehicles make sure FSA 15N04 has been completed prior to attempting reprogramming. If FSA 15N04 has been completed and the TCU is at the latest calibration, then refer to WSM, Section 415-00 for normal diagnostics. Use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual.

SOME 2015-2017 MKC VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A DSP MODULE MAY EXHIBIT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) B1A10, B1A11, B1045 AND/OR B13FD WITH NO OBSERVABLE AUDIO MALFUNCTION AFTER PERFORMING A DSP MODULE ON-DEMAND SELF TEST. IF ANY OF THESE DTCS ARE PRESENT, PERFORM THE SPEAKER WALK AROUND TEST. REFER TO BEZEL DIAGNOSTICS IN WORKSHOP MANUAL (WSM), SECTION 415-00.
