Service bulletins for the 2019 Lincoln Continental
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 47850 | 2019-05-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2013-2019 vehicles equipped with a EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function and/or a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P06A0 in the powertrain control module (PCM). To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been developed and is available from Rotunda (339-EVDC100). A tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership free of charge with shipments completed 19-Apr-2019 (reference EFC07013 on FMCDealer.com). This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Make sure that this tester is used for warranty repairs and document the test results in the Technician Comments field. Refer to the Rotunda catalog for a video and user manual which provide detailed operating instructions. |

| SSM 47824 | 2019-04-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2017 vehicles may experience a no crank concern due to a security access key table error. When attempting to program keys or perform a parameter reset, the procedure may fail and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) scan tool may display an error 232: Key Table Not Allocated. If this error message is encountered, the Body Control Module (BCM) is internally faulted and requires replacement. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) manual. |
| SSM 47821 | 2019-04-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2018-2019 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization and/or accessory protocol interface module (APIM) DTC U0198 or no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct this condition prior to programing remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall. Delete all previous session files for the vehicle. Verify that the electronic serial number (ESN) is now displayed. Start a new IDS/FDRS session. Program the TCU to the latest IDS/FDRS version level. Make sure you are connected to the internet before retesting. If the concern is still present, follow normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 415-00. Refer to PTS OASIS home page for TCU version identification. For claiming, use causal part 14G229. |
| SSM 47791 | 2019-04-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2019 F150/Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019 Nautilus and 2017-2019 Fusion/Continental vehicles equipped with a 2.7L engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and/or wrench lamp with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0217, P0330, P1026, and/or P130D. This may be due to a engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector which is not fully seated or damaged wiring between connectors C1064 and C1047 for F150 and C1016 and C1168 for Edge/MKX/Nautilus/Fusion/Continental vehicles. ECT sensors should not be replaced if damaged wiring is found at or near these connectors. For claiming, use causal part 12A699 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 47865 | 2019-04-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). Some 2019 Continental vehicles built on or before 11-Feb-2019 may experience a concern where the compass only points North, the clock cannot be set using the Reset Clock to GPS Time feature and/or the Navigation will be inoperative. Do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |
| SSM 47854 | 2019-04-03. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty, 2017-2019 Continental, 2016-2019 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019 Nautilus vehicles may exhibit a U3000:49 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) setting in the Steering Effort Control Module (SECM) with no other DTCs present. To eliminate the DTC, perform the IDS SASM module reset routine. The IDS reset routine is available under Toolbox > Chassis > Steering > Adaptive Front Steering > SASM Module Reset. Do not attempt any repairs at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. For claiming, use causal part 3600 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 47850 | 2019-04-03. Service bulletin. For vehicles equipped with adaptive steering, the steering effort control module (SECM) controls the heated steering wheel feature and is internal to the vehicle's steering wheel. For vehicles not equipped with adaptive steering, the heated steering wheel module (HSWM) controls the heated steering wheel feature and is separate from the steering wheel. Using the OASIS Tab drop down > HVBoM > Features button or an appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool, you can determine if the vehicle is equipped with Adaptive Steering. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 211-05. |

When connecting the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) and Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to the DLC located on the driver side under the steering column at the GWM, make sure that the ignition is off before connecting the VCM. If the ignition is on or the engine is running during the connection, it can result in various warning lights being illuminated with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), no start, no crank conditions or the IPC inoperative. If a vehicle displays these issues, disconnect the equipment from the DLC and disconnect the vehicle battery. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall with the ignition off. Clear any DTCs present and retest. |
