Canada: Transport Canada, as of 2026-10-19
20253572025-06-26. Lights And Instruments. Issue: On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the stop lamps, low beam headlamps, high beam headlamps, reverse lamps and turn signal lamps not to turn on, or to turn on unexpectedly. This problem could also cause the lift axle(s) to raise or lower on their own. Safety Risk: Lamps that don't work properly could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Lift axles that move unexpectedly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the vehicle software.
20247442024-12-09. Brakes. Issue: On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.
20247322024-12-03. Steering. Issue: On certain trucks, the bolts for the steering arm and/or tie rods may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the bolts could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with 20k steer axles. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the affected bolts and tighten them properly.
20241612024-03-08. Powertrain. Issue: On certain trucks, the wiring in the right-hand shift stalk may not be properly connected. As a result, you may not be able to shift the transmission back into gear after coming to a stop. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the right-hand shift stalk assembly.
20241212024-02-23. Brakes. Issue: On certain trucks, the reservoir tank for the air brake system is too small. In certain situations, this could cause reduced braking. Canadian regulations require enough air reservoir capacity to ensure the brakes work even with heavy use or when there is a partial loss of the air system. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace or add an additional air reservoir tank, as necessary.
20240382024-01-25. Suspension. Issue: On a small number of trucks equipped with a Hendrickson Composilite steerable lift axle, the steering knuckles may not have been assembled properly during production. As a result, oil could leak from the wheel hub and cause the axle spindles to become loose and separate. Safety Risk: Parts that separate from the truck could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Paccar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering knuckles assemblies.
20240362024-01-25. Steering. Issue: On certain trucks, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear and, if necessary, replace it.
