For all wheel/tire balance claims, the “Tire Balance Data Sheet” must be fully completed including imbalance and Road Force Variation (RFV) data. The Data Sheet can be found at the end of this bulletin.

20-BD-014H2020-08-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. This bulletin provides information regarding condensation related to moisture accumulation in the headlamp, rear combination lamp, daytime running lamp (DRL), or fog lamp. The TSB illustrates the various causes of condensation inside the lamp assembly. Lamp assembly replacement is NOT necessary in most cases. This condition can be eliminated by turning on the lamps with the engine running for several minutes, or during normal driving operation.

This Dealer Best Practice intends to inform dealers of a proposed settlement (“Settlement”) for a class action lawsuit filed against Hyundai Motor America (“HMA”). This service campaign provides instructions to update both the ECM (Engine Control Module) and the TCM (Transmission Control Module) to improve the shift quality of the DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) for these vehicles.

Campaign T4W Dea2020-06-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Hyundai is conducting a Service Campaign to install a new Air Filter Kit with an updated filter to help prevent entry of the salt particulates on certain 2016-2019 Sonata Hybrid (LF HEV) vehicles.
20-FL-003H2020-06-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Certain 2016-2019 Sonata Hybrid (LF HEV) vehicles may experience check engine light illumination with DTC P0456 - Evaporative System (EVAP) - Very Small Leak stored. Salt particulate deposit can form inside the Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) sensor which may cause intermittent operation prompting the DTC P0456 and check engine light. This bulletin provides the procedure to replace the NVLD sensor with an updated Air Filter Kit to help prevent entry of the salt particulates.
20-01-020H2020-06-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Certain 2016-2019 Sonata Hybrid (LF HEV) may experience check engine light illumination with DTC P0456 - Evaporative System (EVAP) - Very Small Leak stored. These conditions primarily occur in the California coastal areas that are subject to marine layer cloud cover. Salt particulate deposit can form inside the Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) sensor which may cause intermittent operation prompting the DTC P0456 and check engine light. This bulletin provides the procedure to install a new Air Filter Kit with an updated filter to help prevent entry of the salt particulates. In addition, replace NVLD sensor if DTC P0456 found stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
20-BD-015H2020-06-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. On certain Sonata (LF) vehicles equipped with smart trunk, the trunk lid may not open to the desired height when using the smart trunk feature. Follow the procedure in the bulletin to inspect the trunk lid opening height, and replace the torsion bars if required. The warranty coverage for the trunk lid torsion bars has been extended to 78 months or 78,000 miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use, whichever occurs first, and is valid for original and subsequent owners.
Smart Trunk Deal2020-06-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. A nationwide settlement (“Settlement”) has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Hyundai Motor America (“HMA”). The lawsuit concerns model year 2015 to 2017 U.S. specification Hyundai Sonata vehicles equipped with the Smart Trunk feature purchased or leased in the fifty United States or the District of Columbia (“Class Vehicles”). The lawsuit alleges that torsion bars on the Smart Trunk in the Class Vehicles are defective because they do not open a sufficient amount. . Defendant has denied these allegations.
DCT Dealer Best2020-06-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. An informational brochure about the Dual Clutch Transmission was sent to Class Members of 2015-2017 model year Sonata Eco vehicles, 2016-2017 model year Tucson vehicles, and 2016-2017 model year Veloster vehicles equipped with a Dual Clutch Transmission.
