Service bulletins for the 2017 Honda Pilot

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

181 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

A17-0112018-04-23. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Service bulletin - Some 9-speed transmission warmers were improperly manufactured and allow the engine coolant and ATF to mix. If the fluids mix, the engine and transmission may be permanently damaged and require replacement. These vehicles previously had the transmission replaced because the transmission warmers leaked. In rare cases, these vehicles may have also overheated but because the issue was under investigation, a standard repair procedure hadn?t been developed. Further action is needed before the vehicle is completely repaired.
ATS1803092018-04-16. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Tech line summary article - Loose bulkhead cover latches and strikers can cause a grinding, rattle, flutter, buzz and/or vibration from the front of the vehicle when lightly accelerating with the engine speed under 2,000 rpm. This can also happen when shifting and may be mistaken for a torque converter shudder.
A18-0182018-04-16. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. Service bulletin - The customer is unable to insert the fuel nozzle into the filler neck and fuel the vehicle in cold weather. Water or moisture has entered the fueling area and frozen the capless fuel shutter set in the fuel filler neck.
A18010I2018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Servicenews article - We?re getting reports of reduced engine power with the MIL on. Service techs are seeing DTC P0369 (CMP sensor circuit intermittent interruption) and signs of excessive camshaft end play.
A18010G2018-03-13. Service bulletin. SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER; SEATS. Servicenews article - The seat heaters offer passengers some level of comfort in colder weather when the seats or inside cabin temperature are on the cool to cold side. But when it?s warm outside and/or the inside cabin temperature is on the warm to hot side, they may not heat the seats above the inside cabin temperature, causing passengers to think there?s something wrong with the seat heaters.
ATS1802062018-03-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Tech line summary article - Until recently, Tech Line had only two categories for auto idle stop system issues. That made it hard for our engineering staff to understand what was specifically inhibiting the system. To help with this, Tech Line has added more categories to match what?s listed in the service information. As a result, when calling them for an auto idle stop issue, you must now send a snapshot. Tech Line needs it for troubleshooting and won?t be able to help unless you do.
A17-0822018-03-12. Service bulletin. SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER. Service bulletin - The driver?s and/or front passenger?s seat heaters work intermittently or may not operate at all. The heater wire of the heater element can get pinched or broken in the trench area of the seat cushion.
A17-0152018-03-12. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Service bulletin - A judder from the torque converter lock-up clutch may be felt while driving between 20 and 60 mph. The problem is typically diagnosed as a bad torque converter. American Honda investigated the judder and found that the torque converter was not causing the judder and the transmission is not damaged by this judder.
A17-0142018-03-12.
A17-0362018-03-05. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Service bulletin - The MIL comes on with DTC P0430 (front bank catalyst system efficiency below threshold [Bank 2]). The PCM software may misinterpret sensor inputs as a deteriorated catalytic converter.
AVE021420189012018-02-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. Dealer message - Every Service Bulletin requires you to take an HDS snap shot and use the job aid or Tech2Tech to confirm the judder/shudder is coming from the torque converter.
A18-0102018-02-21. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Service bulletin - While driving, the customer may experience flickering interior/exterior lights, multiple indicators coming on, jerky steering and/or other voltage-related fluctuations. The B+ sensing screw on the alternator is not torqued properly.
A18010I2018-01-29. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Servicenews article - We?re getting reports of reduced engine power with the MIL on. Service techs are seeing DTC P0369 (CMP sensor circuit intermittent interruption) and signs of excessive camshaft end play.

Customer Letter2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Customer letter - On a limited number of 2016?17 Pilot vehicles, the 9-speed automatic transmission fluid (ATF) warmer may leak internally. If the ATF warmer leaks, you may notice one or more of the following symptoms: ? The vehicle overheats. ? The transmission shifts poorly. ? The transmission makes noise during shifting.
Customer Letter2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Customer letter - Your 2016 or 2017 Pilot previously had the transmission replaced because of a leaking 9-speed automatic transmission fluid (ATF) warmer. As the issue was under investigation when the transmission was replaced, your vehicle needs further action before it is completely repaired.
