PIP5250B2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Service 4WD message in the Driver Information Center. During inspection technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 or C0326 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module. If the vehicle has Regular Production Option Code NP0 and only has diagnostic trouble code C0398 stored in the Transfer Case Control Module, then use Service Programming System to update the Transfer Case Control Module. When working with vehicles equipped NHQ and NQ6 and setting Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 when operated in areas where the ambient temperature is below 32 Fahrenheit (0 Celsius) use Global Diagnostic System 2 to review the freeze frame failure records, record all findings and Diagnostic Trouble Codes then clear the DTCs and data. Technician will need to operate the vehicle in all ranges and ensure that no Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset. If the vehicle had a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0398 in the Transfer Case Control Module stored with any other Diagnostic Trouble Code such as C0392, C0396, C0306 or other codes related to rotational position sensor or actuator position sensor it is likely that is causing a C0398 to set and replacement of the actuator will likely not repair the vehicle. If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes reset and C0398 was set without other rotational position sensor, or actuator position sensor Diagnostic Trouble Codes then replace the actuator motor with part number 23355888. Dealer will need to contact General Motors Product Quality Center for further assistance.

PIT5365A2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how the radio display gets the air ambient temperature. On 1500 series trucks and all sport utility vehicle with regular production option code IO3 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the engine control module and then the signal goes on high speed local area network to the body control module from there on low speed local area network to the radio. On 1500 series trucks and all sport utility vehicle with regular production option code IO4, IO5, or IO6 the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the engine control module and then the signal goes on high speed local area network to the body control module from there on low speed local area network to the radio then Most 50 Bus to the Human Machine Interface. On 2500/3500 series trucks production option code IO3 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the instrument panel cluster and then the signal goes on low speed local area network to the radio. On 2500/3500 series trucks production option code IO4, IO5, or IO6 radio the ambient air temperature sensor is hard wired to the instrument panel cluster and then the signal goes on low speed local area network to the radio then Most 50 Bus to the Human Machine Interface.

PIP52612017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician that some vehicles may have a high pitched whine noise from the vehicle noticed when driving in auto 4wd. When the transfer case control module has to move the transfer case actuator motor the higher current passing through the module causes an "electronic buzz or whine" within some of the capacitors in the module that can be heard by some of our customers. This can only be heard with all accessories and HVAC off and only when actuator movement is required. This does not indicate a concern with the module and should not be replaced to address this concern.

G-1769442017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. 13330 - Service Update. This bulletin provides a service procedure to address incorrect calibration values in the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system. These calibration errors can cause the hydraulic lifters to actuate at the wrong time, when the combustion chamber is under high pressure. If this occurs the hydraulic lifter can be damaged and the affected cylinder will no longer operate. To correct this condition, dealers will reprogram these vehicles with a new ECM and TCM calibration.
G-1733802017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. 13257 - Service Update. Reprogram the body control module (BCM). When the key is turned to start the engine, a series of communication events occur. If there is an interruption in this communication, it could result in a no crank/start condition. The engine can be started with the remote start feature; however, the engine will shut down within 5 seconds if the communication error occurs. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, the engine can be started. This condition may or may not occur on subsequent starts, depending on whether or not there is a communication error.
