Service bulletins for the 2018 Ford Transit
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 47394 | 2018-07-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2013-2018 F-150, 2015-2018 Transit/Expedition, and 2015-2017 Navigator vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine with greater than 20,000 miles may exhibit a tick type noise from the cylinder block area. This noise may be caused by a cracked piston skirt. The noise can be isolated to a cylinder using a stethoscope or other suitable listening device. Canceling the affected cylinder will reduce or eliminate the noise. If the noise is isolated to a specific cylinder, it is recommended to replace the short block. If the noise cannot be isolated using the methods described, refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) for diagnosis. A cracked piston skirt does not result in metal contamination of the engine or any related cylinder head damage. Prior approval for short block replacement is not required under new vehicle limited warranty coverage. |

Short block replacement does not require prior approval. |
| SSM 47340 | 2018-07-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. 2017-2018 F-Super Duty/F-650/F-750/E-Series/Transit chassis cab and stripped chassis vehicles have their front alignment set as part of final assembly. The addition of aftermarket equipment such as utility and box bodies will change the ride height and therefore the alignment angles. Front-end alignments performed before the addition of aftermarket equipment may not be accurate. It is the responsibility of the final-stage manufacturer to check and set alignment angles and set clear vision (steering wheel orientation) after the addition of the aftermarket equipment. Reference page nine of the Body Builders Layout book for more information about this and the addition of aftermarket bodies to incomplete vehicles. |
