Service bulletins for the 2024 Ford F-150

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 527722024-08-16. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some 2020-2024 F-150, 2021-2024 Bronco, and 2024 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to a stuck internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit.
TSB 24-22272024-07-29. Service bulletin. ENGINE. This article supersedes TSB 24-2166 to update the parts list. Some 2022-2024 F-150 vehicles built on 23-Aug-2022 and through 29-Mar-2024 equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an oil leak from the oil filter adaptor to engine block mounting area. This may be due to block porosity just below the oil filter adapter near the main bearing cap outer bolt. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the engine block for a porosity leak.
TSB 24-21662024-06-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE. This article supersedes TSB 24-2054 to add 2024 models and update the production fix date.
SSM 524472024-05-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2020-2024 F-150 and 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to a stuck internal component of the variable cam timing (VCT) unit. To correct the condition, replace all 4 of the VCT units following Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01. For claiming, use causal part 6C525 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If labor times are not available, claim M-time.
SSM 523352024-03-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
SSM 523192024-03-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:AUTONOMOUS/SELF DRIVING:SOFTWARE. Some 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles equipped with a 12 inch center display and all 2024 F-150 gas engine vehicles may exhibit incorrect illumination of the parking sensor soft button on the vehicle's center display screen. This may be due to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software. Replacement or reprogramming of the APIM will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q3 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in Q3 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information.
SSM 522282024-02-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2023 F-150 equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine built on or after 3-Nov-2023 may exhibit an intermittent no start and Stop Safely Now message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U0293 and/or P1A43 in the BECM or in connected vehicle data. A gateway module A (GWM) software concern may be triggering the no start condition. This does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that the vehicle will start after leaving it off temporarily. Engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in March 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information.
SSM 522122024-02-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:PUMP. Some 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0594:68 in the heat pump valve control module (HPVCM) when a diagnostic self-test is performed. This may be due to HPVCM sensitivity while in accessory mode. DTC U0594:68 has no effect on functionality and will automatically become a historical DTC which can be cleared. Replacement or reprogramming of the HPVCM will not resolve this condition. DTC U0594:68 should be ignored if no other DTCs are present in the HPVCM, no warning indicators are illuminated while the vehicle is on, and no symptoms present. No further service action is required.
