Service bulletins for the 2019 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 48899 | 2020-07-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some 2018-2020 F-150 and F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with tailgate step assemblies may exhibit a step assembly that binds/will not open or opens/pops up while driving. This could be due to an incorrect adjustment of the step assembly. Before replacing any components for this concern, follow the Tailgate Step Adjustment procedure in Workshop Manual, Section 501-04, General Procedures. |
| SSM 48894 | 2020-07-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some 2019-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0011, P0012, P0021 and/or P0022 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). In addition to the DTCs, the vehicle may also exhibit noise near the front of the valve covers from the intake variable camshaft timing (VCT) phasers. To resolve this condition, replace only the VCT solenoid(s) associated with the DTCs present. If the condition persists after VCT solenoid replacement, continue with normal Powertrain Controls and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual diagnostics for any DTCs, and/or follow engine NVH diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00. For claiming, use causal part 6B297 and applicable labor operations in the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB 20-2207 | 2020-07-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may exhibit excessive white or blue smoke from the exhaust at start up after a cold soak. This may be due to oil entering the left side turbocharger turbine housing. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the left side turbocharger oil supply tube with a revised part. |
| TSB 20-2170 | 2020-06-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2018-2020 F-150/Expedition/Navigator/F-Super Duty vehicles built on 31-Aug-2018 and through 02-Feb-2020 may exhibit a water leak on the right front floor during and/or after the air conditioning (A/C) is used. This may be due to condensation from the evaporator drain tube entering the vehicle through the drain tube seal. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to install an elbow on the evaporator drain tube to direct the condensation away from the seal. |
| SSM 48789 | 2020-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. Some 2018-2020 Model Year F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may experience an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P2196 and/or P2198 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). Engineering is working to implement a solution for this condition. In the interim, clear the DTCs with the appropriate Ford scan tool and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for early July 2020. Advise the customer that a repair is expected to be available in June 2020 and that the condition has no effect on vehicle operation or long term durability. |
| TSB 20-2034 | 2020-03-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:LPG SYSTEMS:WATER HEATER; SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER. This condition may be due to deposits from the engine coolant becoming trapped in the heater core. To correct the condition, flush the cooling system and replace the heater core. |
| SSM 48404 | 2020-01-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2017-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine, 2018-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost or 5.0L engine, 2019-2020 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L engine, and an externally controlled variable displacement compressor (EVDC) may exhibit a high pitched squeal or whistle type noise from the engine compartment after the engine is shut off. This condition may be due to the air conditioning (A/C) low side system pressure exceeding the high side pressure resulting in equalization of A/C system pressures through the EVDC A/C compressor. This noise is not detrimental to system operation or durability. Do not attempt diagnosis or repairs for this condition at this time. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |

To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership (339-EVDC100). Ensure the A/C system has a full charge prior to any compressor diagnostics. To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC compressor tool must be used, and the results recorded in the Technician comments field with the warranty claim. This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement.
