Service bulletins for the 2018 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 47452 | 2018-09-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with BLIS that have had the pickup box removed for upfitter modification may exhibit a BLIS warning message in the message center with no associated DTCs. Using the appropriate Ford scan tool at the latest level, re-configure the BLIS system to correct this concern. These settings can be found under toolbox > module programming > programmable parameters > warning lamps and chimes and must be adjusted in multiple modules. Details can be found on the truck body builder advisory service (BBAS) website, found by clicking the link at the bottom of the webpage at https://www.fleet.ford.com. Once at the BBAS website, click on bulletins, and refer to published qualified vehicle modifier (QVM) bulletin for BLIS warning programming. Changes the BLIS configuration as a result of upfitter modifications are non-warrantable. |

| SSM 47446 | 2018-09-24. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an oil leak from the engine oil pan RTV seal. Replace the oil pan following the procedure in Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01. After removing the oil pan it is suggested to allow the crankcase to drain overnight to minimize the chance of residual oil contaminating the crankcase sealing rail. Remove all traces of old RTV and clean the engine sealing surface using only Motorcraftù Metal Brake Parts Cleaner, then wipe with Motorcraftù Metal Surface Prep Wipes and allow to air dry. Refer to WSM, Section 303-00 > RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation. If possible, allow the new RTV sealant to cure for 4 hours before refilling the engine with oil. Skipping or improperly completing steps may result in repeat oil pan leaks. |
| SSM 47445 | 2018-09-24. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. 2018 F150 vehicles excluding Raptor built at Dearborn Truck Plant on or after 26-Feb-2018 and at Kansas City Assembly Plant on or after 10-Mar-2018 have the AAT sensor located in the right exterior mirror. The AAT sensor is serviced separately from the mirror assembly. If the vehicle is built on or after the dates listed above, do not add the sensor and harness behind the grill. If the sensor is missing from the right mirror the incorrect exterior mirror may have been installed. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor GSB G0000178 for additional information. The Workshop Manual (WSM) and Wiring Diagram have been updated for non-Raptor vehicles for the early and late build AAT sensor locations. The sensor location on Raptor vehicles has not changed. |

Some 2016-2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 not at the latest software level may exhibit Various Performance Related concerns such as Display Operation, Navigation, Voice Recognition, Phone Pairing, Applink, Travel Link, Slow System Response, etc. Check for SYNC software update under the OASIS Tab SYNC selection. If an update is available refer to WSM, Section 415-00 and update the APIM software. After Installation, complete pop-up appears, remove USB flash drive and install into IDS tool to update Ford database. Perform a complete ignition cycle by turning the key off for 5 minutes which is critical for a successful installation. If no updates are available or a blue or black screen is present after an update refer to WSM, Section 415-00 for diagnosis or SYNC 3 intermittent blank screen GSB for tips. For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual. |
