Some 2017-2019 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition vehicles built on or before 1-Apr-2019 and equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit excessive oil consumption with no visible oil leaks with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. This may be due to a concern with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to verify the condition and replace the valve covers.
TSB 19-22572019-09-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0471 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the exhaust pressure sensor. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the exhaust pressure sensor.
TSB 19-22322019-08-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2017-2019 F-150 and 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or before 1-Apr-2019 and equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit excessive oil consumption with no visible oil leaks with or without diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0365 and/or P0369. This may be due to a concern with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to verify the condition and replace the valve covers.
SSM 480292019-07-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles built on 23-Sep-2018 and through 28-Mar-2019 and 2019 Edge/Nautilus/Continental/MKZ vehicles built on 4-Dec-2018 and through 29-Mar-2019 and Fusion vehicles built on 16-Jan-2019 and through 12-Apr-2019 equipped with a 2.7L/3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the incorrect positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve installed. If the PCV valve is brown in color, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for normal diagnostics. If the PCV valve is gray in color, replace the PCV valve, clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC returns, refer to the PC/ED for normal diagnostics.
SSM 477122019-03-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2019 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition.
SSM 476632019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE). Some 2018-2019 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine built on or before 19-Oct-2018 may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P2457 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to missing or loose screws in exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system bypass module. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-08E. If no concerns are present with the bypass module screws, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for normal diagnostics. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 476412019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. Some 2011-2019 F-Super Duty, 2015-2019 Transit, 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 and 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L, 3.2L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P207F, P20EE, P229F, P2201 and/or P24AE. This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the aftertreatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end aftertreatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors.
TSB 18-23242019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P0471 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
