Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford Escape

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 547202026-04-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION. Various 2020-2026 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with blind spot information system (BLIS) may experience an inoperative blind spot monitoring with a "Blind Spot System Fault" message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). This may be due to the wiring connector from the mirror to the BLIS module. If diagnostics lead to an internal mirror wiring harness fault, a new lower level BLIS light pigtail is now released for service. It is not necessary to replace the exterior mirror assembly. Use part number SC3Z-14A411-B to resolve the concern.

This may also be accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B118C:11 and/or B118C:15 stored in the driver door module (DDM), and/or B118D:11 and/or B118D:15 stored in the passenger door module (PDM). SSM 519962023-11-03. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: LANE KEEP: AUTOMATIC STEERING. Some 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair vehicles may exhibit a condition where the vehicle drifts left and right within the vehicle's lane while the lane keeping assist is active. The lane keeping aid assists the driver by providing steering torque to help the driver keep the vehicle in the lane when it detects unintentional drifting toward the outside of the lane. Additionally, adaptive cruise control with lane centering provides constant steering torque to keep the vehicle centered in the lane while cruise control is engaged. These are operating characteristics of the lane keeping systems. Refer to the Owner's Manual for complete description of the operation of these systems. Do not attempt diagnosis or repairs or submit a claim for this condition. Inform the customer that the lane keeping system is only an aid, and their hands should stay on the steering wheel at all times while driving.
TSB 23-20482023-05-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:BLINDSPOT:SENSORS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE:SOFTWARE:PEDESTRIAN/CYCLIST/OBJECT/OBSTACLE/ RECOGNITION. Some 2021-2022 Escape vehicles built on or before 28-Jun-2022 may encounter false blind spot information system (BLIS) alerts. This may be due to the original packaging of the side obstacle detection radar mounting brackets. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the side obstacle detection radar mounting brackets and configure the modules.
SSM 514502023-04-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. Some 2022 Escape vehicles built on 11-Oct-2021 and through 16-Aug-2022 equipped with intelligent adaptive cruise control may exhibit a condition where the speed limit sign recognition indicator does not flash in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) when the vehicle is driven over the speed limit tolerance. This may be due to a misconfigured IPC. To correct this condition, run the IPC-Configuration app using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 10849 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS Manual).
SSM 514372023-04-05. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:CRUISE CONTROL.
