Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford Escape
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 20-2265 | 2020-10-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with an 8F24, 8F35 or 8F40 transmission may exhibit an unable to engage park condition with an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) lamp and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P07E4 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. There will also be a shift system fault warning message displayed and the electronic parking brake will be automatically applied when park is requested. This condition may be caused by an incorrect underhood section of the transmission park manual release cable or due to the underhood section of the transmission park manual release cable not in the proper stowed position. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the operation of the transmission park manual release cable and if necessary, replace the transmission park manual release cable. |

| SSM 48962 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with the 1.5L and an 8F24 transmission may exhibit a light to moderate buzz/sizzle/rattle noise heard while seated in the driver's seat. This noise can be heard under moderate to heavy acceleration (2500-4000rpm) and radiates from the lower left side of the dash panel. This may be due to the manual park release cable internal steel cable rattling against the plastic covering. Disconnecting the cable from the transmission will aid in determining if the manual park release cable is the cause. If it has been determined that the cable is the cause of the condition, use updated service parts LX6Z-7D246-N and LX6Z-7D246-L to correct this condition. |
| 20B14-S1 | 2020-06-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. In some of the affected vehicles, the customer may experience limited powertrain acceleration and speed along with a “Stop Safely Now” message and a check engine light displayed in the instrument cluster. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) P0340 and P1A0C may be present in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This is due to crankshaft and camshaft signal quality during start up, resulting in incorrect synchronization and the inability of the engine to produce the requested torque. |
| SSM 48579 | 2020-03-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. Some 2018-2020 vehicles equipped with the 8F24, 8F35, 8F40, or 8F57 transmissions may have a trace amount of transmission fluid in the main control electrical connector. This is due to the connector being submerged in transmission fluid during the main control manufacturing process. A trace amount should be considered normal and will not affect the function of the transmission. Do not attempt a repair for this condition. If more than a trace amount of fluid is found, follow normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 307-01>Diagnosis and Testing>Leakage Inspection. |
| TSB 19-2386 | 2020-01-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus/Transit Connect and 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0766 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and/or intermittent no reverse engagement concerns. This may be due to contamination in the main control valve body separator plate orifice. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to clean the contamination from the main control plate. |
