Service bulletins for the 2019 Ford Edge
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 49769 | 2021-06-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit a noise/vibration/chatter/shudder/grind/bind from the rear of the vehicle during low speed turning events. To correct the condition, reprogram the AWD module using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use casual part RECAL and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
|---|---|
| SSM 49756 | 2021-05-03. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2018-2021 vehicles supported by FDRS may not list a software update for a module under the SW Updates tab although an SSM or TSB is published for a software update. This may be due to the module already being at the latest software level. A later software level may have been programmed at the assembly plant, during a previous dealer visit or by an over the air (OTA) update for vehicles that have automatic updates enabled in the SYNC system settings. To review a vehicle's OTA update history, visit the Connected Vehicle > OTA Dashboard tab in OASIS. Information about the OTA Dashboard can be found on FMCDealer.com when performing a search on OTA History Job Aid. |
| TSB 21-2081 | 2021-04-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge and 2019-2020 Nautilus vehicles built on or before 11-Mar-2021 and equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit a shudder/buck/jerk while driving up to 35 mph (57 km/h). This may be due to the software in the powertrain control module (PCM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to reprogram the PCM and the transmission solenoid strategy. |
| SSM 49676 | 2021-03-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may experience a concern of the alarm activating when an unlocked door is opened, the driver door does not unlock/open when pressing the door activation switch, or the door activation switch not lighting up. This may be due to a software configuration in the body control module (BCM). To correct the condition, reprogram the BCM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 49679 | 2021-03-31. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2015-2020 Edge, 2016-2018 MKX, and 2019-2020 Nautilus vehicles may require replacement of the roof opening panel track or frame for various conditions. When replacing the roof opening panel, the replacement component may have less magnet plates. In order to prevent any noise vibration or harshness (NVH) concerns, the magnets on the headliner around the roof opening panel that line up with the removed magnet plates should be discarded. |
| SSM 49668 | 2021-03-31. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REAR WINDOW WIPER/WASHER:SWITCH/WIRING. Some 2019-2020 Edge vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear wiper continuously operates. This may be due to a pinched or damaged wire in the liftgate where the harness enters the liftgate causing a short to ground. To correct the condition, inspect the area where the wiring harness enters the liftgate and repair any damage found to the wiring. |
| SSM 49571 | 2021-03-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with all wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit chatter/shudder during low speed turning events due to fluid contamination. Drain and refill the rear drive unit (RDU), refer to Workshop Manual Section (WSM) 205-02. Drive for 8 km (5 miles) in stop and go conditions with right and left turns and re-evaluate. If the issue is still present, continue with WSM diagnostics. For claiming, use base (4000) causal part. |
| SSM 49565 | 2021-03-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus vehicles may exhibit an inoperative power liftgate with or without diagnostic trouble code U3000-49 stored in the rear gate trunk module (RGTM). This may be due to the RGTM software. To correct the condition, reprogram the RGTM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

When using the FordPass/Lincoln Way application, the customer may receive a message saying Wi-Fi has been disabled from this vehicle. Check the vehicle specifications or vehicle build information for the mfal code on the PTS website (Detailed Vehicle Specifications). If mfal = WAFAC or WAFAB do not replace the TCU, engineering is currently investigating this condition. Inform customers Ford is developing a software fix that is expected in early March. In the interim, let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for early March. Monitor OASIS for updates. |

Refer to the Owner's Manual > Maintenance > Engine oil check section. When checking the engine oil level after shutting off the engine wait at least 15 minutes prior to checking in order to allow the oil to drain back to the oil pan. The engine oil level can be checked immediately if the engine has not been started. When changing the engine oil the engine needs to be at normal operating temperature and the oil filter removed before draining the oil. Allow the oil pan to drain completely for up to 5 minutes. Check oil level after filling by following the oil level check procedure. |
| SSM 49427 | 2021-02-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
