Service bulletin SSM 49668

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2019-2020 Edge vehicles may exhibit a condition where the rear wiper continuously operates. This may be due to a pinched or damaged wire in the liftgate where the harness enters the liftgate causing a short to ground. To correct the condition, inspect the area where the wiring harness enters the liftgate and repair any damage found to the wiring.

SSM 540672025-07-30. Service bulletin. For 2018-2024 Edge and 2018-2025 Mustang vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the sun visor as the causal part, a new lower level part is available (DS7Z-9904132-A). It is not necessary to replace the sun visor assembly if only the clip is damaged.
SSM 481302019-09-06. Service bulletin. Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
SSM 480942019-08-07. Service bulletin. Some 2015-2019 Edge vehicles build on or before 5-Nov-2018 may exhibit snow and/or ice accumulation below the wiper blade park position, causing the wipers to have intermittent operational issues. If normal diagnostics do not result in a root cause determination, replace the drivers side wiper motor with updated service part FT4Z-17508-H, and make sure the customer is advised to keep the cowl area clean of ice and snow. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-16 and applicable labor operations in Section 11 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
