Recalls that may apply to the 2008 CAN-AM Spyder

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

12V5820002012-12-12. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP. Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Can-Am Spyder GS, RS, and RT series vehicles. The fuel cap may not fit onto the fuel tank filler neck, preventing it from sealing properly.
12V5810002012-12-12. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 Can-Am Spyder GS and model year 2010 Can-AM Spyder RS vehicles. Fuel vapors may exit the fuel vapor canister vent hose in the enclosed engine compartment.
09V1620002009-05-19. STEERING. BOMBARDIER RECREATIONAL IS RECALLING 9,932 MY 2008-2010 CAN-AM SPYDER ROADSTER GS MOTORCYCLES. A CONDITION MAY EXIST WHERE THE OPERATOR OF AN INVOLVED VEHICLE MAY NEED TO EXERT A FORCE GREATER THAN EXPECTED TO INITIATE THE TURNING OF THE STEERING HANDLEBAR OFF CENTER IN ORDER TO CORRECT VEHICLE DRIFT FROM A STRAIGHT LINE PATH. THIS HIGHER THAN EXPECTED STEERING CONTROL INPUT TORQUE MAY CAUSE A STEERING ANGLE OVERSHOOT AND AN UNEXPECTED DEVIATION OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE OPERATOR'S INTENDED PATH. Built 2007-04-04 to 2008-11-17.
07V5610002007-12-12. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THERE IS A PRESENCE OF AN ABNORMAL QUANTITY OF AIR IN THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT OF THE FRONT BRAKE. ALSO SOME VEHICLES MAY HAVE ONE OR TWO BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR CAPS THAT ARE SEALED AND THIS COULD CREATE A VACUUM WHICH COULD LEAD TO ADSORPTION OF AIR INTO THE BRAKE CIRCUITS. THE BRAKE PEDAL MAY GO ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSING. Built 2007-09-18 to 2007-11-19.
Canada: Transport Canada, as of 2026-10-19
20124222012-12-12. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, the fuel cap may not seal properly on the fuel tank filler neck and could allow fuel vapours to escape. Fuel vapours, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Owners will be sent an updated fuel cap.
20124212012-12-12. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, an incorrect fuel vapor canister vent hose may have been installed and could allow fuel vapours to escape in proximity of an ignition source. Fuel vapours, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace as well as re-route the vent line if necessary.
20103132010-09-15. Steering. On certain vehicles, a situation may occur where the operator is required to exert a force greater than expected to initiate the turning of the steering handlebar of the vehicle in order to correct its trajectory. At this increased level of force, the handlebar may be turned more than intended. If this occurs, an operator may steer the vehicle out of the driving lane or off the roadway, increasing the risk of a crash, resulting in possible serious injury or death to operators or bystanders. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering gear box with an updated version.
20091362009-05-11. Steering. On certain vehicles, greater than expected force may need to be exerted in order to initiate turning of the steering handlebar from center position while underway. Once handlebar turning is initiated, however, the resistance reduces and steering mechanism movement responds to operator inputs normally. This higher than expected initial steering input force may cause the operator to overshoot a steering correction or turn, causing an unexpected deviation from the intended vehicle path. This could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the dynamic power steering (DPS) system.
20073822007-11-30. Brakes. On certain vehicles, air in the hydraulic brake system could allow the brake pedal to be fully depressed while not delivering corresponding brake performance. This could increase the vehicle's stopping distance and cause a crash resulting in property damage and/or personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will bleed the brake system.

A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
