Service bulletins for the 2016 Cadillac Escalade

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

PIP5337K2018-11-13. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician to refer to bulletin 16-NA-175 to aid in addressing torque converter clutch shudder concerns.
PIP5337F2017-10-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the step to diagnose and repair the vehicles that may have a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration, between 30 and 65 mph steady state driving. Also shudder feeling that may be described as driving over rumble strips or rough pavement. Technician will drive the vehicle and monitor the torque converter clutch slip. The torque converter clutch slip speed should be 10 rpm or less also note if the shudder takes place during torque converter clutch apply. If the torque converter clutch slip speed is in the range of 10 RPM or less the condition is possibly related to engine performance. If the shudder is only present in 4 cylinder mode and torque converter clutch slip is 10 rpm or less deem the shudder concern normal characteristic of Active Fuel Management. If the slip speed is beyond 10 rpm or there is shudder during torque converter clutch apply the torque converter will need to be replaced. Also flush the cooler lines and cooler using DT-45096 transmission oil cooling system flush and flow test tool.
PIP5382H2017-08-15. Service bulletin. WHEELS:LUGS/NUTS/BOLTS/STUDS; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician that generation 5 engines with Regular Production Option Code L83, L86, or LV3 may have an oil consumption concern were one quart in 2000 miles is being used. Dealer will confirm oil level was properly checked per Owner’s Manual, and check the bolt torque on the Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly, before doing any repairs to the vehicle.
PIP5337C2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician a vehicle may have a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration, between 30 and 65 mph steady driving. Technician will drive the vehicle while monitoring Torque Converter Clutch slip speed. If the Torque Converter Clutch slip speed is in the range of 10 RPM or less the condition is possibly related to engine performance. If the slip speed is beyond 10 rpm or there is shudder during Torque Converter Clutch apply the torque converter should be replaced following the instructions published in Service Information.
16-NA-0142017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. This technical bulletin provides a procedure on replacing the stator shaft support for vehicles with the condition of a delayed engagement after sitting with the engine off.
PIP5337H2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the step to diagnose and repair the vehicles that may have a shake or shudder during light throttle acceleration, between 30 and 65 miles per hour steady state driving. Also shudder feeling that may be described as driving over rumble strips or rough pavement. Technician will need to run the vehicle in three different operational modes. The three modes are Normal, torque converter clutch open, and torque converter clutch closed. Technician will need to press and hold the tow-haul mode button for five seconds to disable grade braking to prevent downshifts during test. Technician will need to duplicate the concern in Normal mode. If the concern is gone in torque converter clutch open and closed then the torque converter should be replaced. If the concern is not present in normal mode, torque converter clutch open, and torque converter clutch closed the concern is not with the shudder. Technician should use of the PICO scope and Noise, Vibration and Harshness software can be used to confirm torque converter clutch shudder, Engine, Tire or Driveline component related conditions. Flush the cooler lines and cooler using DT-45096 transmission oil cooling system flush and flow test tool when the torque converter is replace.
PIP5337B2017-03-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER.
