Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A941323 2033675- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING: REAR COMPARTMENT/TRUNK; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 13-17 dated May 22, 2013. DTC 03073 (Closed Rear Lid Sensor - Incorrect Signal) may be stored in the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 46). In order for the vehicle to receive a proper rear lid status signal when the lid is operated, the paddle switches on the rear sill trim must contact the opposing lid latch points uniformly. When the rear lid is opened, the paddle switches change state and the comfort system central control module 2, J773, will read G525 and G526. It will then communicate to the comfort system central control module, J393. |
| A961367 2019260- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 12-37 dated June 11, 2012. The customer may report that the handheld transmitter cannot be programmed to the garage door opener control module, J530. The customer's door opener system may not be compatible with J530. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. In A4 Model Years 2005 - 2006 and A3 Model Year 2009, the actual location of the garage door opener control module differs from the location shown in the owner's manual (opposite side of front bumper). The customer may misunderstand the programming procedure, particularly if the customer's HomeLink® opener system is using an alternate code. The handheld transmitter's programming function may become inoperative, or the transmitter is too far away from J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. If the vehicle flashes during the programming of a handheld transmitter, this does not necessarily indicate that the programming was successful; it only indicates that the vehicle has recognized and saved a signal. |
| A961368 2029384- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-64 dated June 20, 2013. The customer is able to program one or more of the Homelink buttons using their garage door remote, but after a few days or weeks, one or more of the programmed Homelink buttons no longer functions. The LED on the Homelink button that is no longer functioning now flashes slowly, indicating that no programming is stored. The customer's transmitter operates at 295Mhz. No DTCs are stored in any control units. At the workshop, the Homelink system can be programmed to the workshop garage door successfully. No trouble is found. The garage door opener control module, J530, was designed with an operational frequency range in which the 295Mhz frequency works correctly during the initial programming of the system. Over time, the transmitting frequency can drift out of range (especially in warmer climates), causing the system to lose its programming. |
| A911392 2030947- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated September 25, 2012. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone gets the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call assuming the phone is not responding. |
| A551331 2033675- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING: REAR COMPARTMENT/TRUNK. |
| A481346 2021191- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 40 number 09-06 dated August 3, 2009. Customer hears squeaking noises when turning or maneuvering the steering wheel. The folds of the outer CV joint rubber boots can touch each other when the steering wheel is turned. |
| A461347 2034387- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated. |
| A371309 2028715- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-40 dated February 28, 2012. Rough gear changes, both when accelerating and when slowing down. There is a rough driving power disruption that occurs sporadically and lasts for less than a second. After a mechatronics, torque converter, or complete gearbox replacement, the clutches must be adapted to the new component. This requires a gradual move of the clutch linings toward the optimal operating points in the most diverse load conditions. As a result, sporadic driving power disruptions lasting for less than a second or reduced shift comfort are possible over the first 500 miles. This is normal, and these issues will decrease over time. The issues can also occur if the adaptation values of the gearbox were deleted. |
| Dealer Letter - | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER; ENGINE. Due to Illinois state tax incentives for biofuels, biodiesel blends of B5 or less may not be available in the State of Illinois. Because Audi supports the development and use of renewable fuels (such as biodiesel fuel blends), customers with 2009-2013 MY Audi TDI® Clean Diesel Engine vehicles registered in the State of Illinois only will receive a communication on or about February 21, 2013 regarding the use of biodiesel fuel blends in their vehicles. Audi will continue to honor the terms and conditions of Audi Limited Warranties that came with these vehicles. | A911374 2024323- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated October 1, 2012. Parking aid sporadically warns of obstacles when none exist. Parking aid is inoperative or provides constant warning. Various parking aid sensor fitting issues. Environmental conditions. |
| A571382 2017082- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 11-55 dated August 22, 2011. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders. |
| A441336 2022563- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-35 dated January 18, 2013. Customer feels vibration from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h) in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not result in any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. |
| A431312 2020095- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 43 number 10-04 dated September 29, 2010. The vehicle pulls to one side. The suspension height is uneven and the vehicle is crooked. One wheel location of the suspension is stuck in the raised position. The control system cannot be programmed. DTC's may be stored in address 34. The residual pressure holding valve of an air spring may be stuck closed, not allowing the air spring to reduce its height. This valve's function is to ensure a minimum air spring pressure of 50 psi in the event of a large leak. For example, if an air supply line was severed by road debris, the residual pressure holding valve would keep the air spring from completely deflating. |
| A011370 2018260- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-06 dated June 4, 2010. MIL on. A number of incident memory entries with regard to the throttle valve are stored in the ECM. In most cases, the entries are sporadic. Contact resistance in the ECM wiring - throttle valve. |
| A941316 2033675- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS. The customer may report that the tail lamp lighting does not switch between the rear lid and the bumper when the lid is operated. DTC 03703 (Rear lid -closed- sensor) may be stored in the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 46). |
| A481343 2015819- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 11-15 dated January 10, 2011. The customer may report that the Easy Entry function of the power adjustable steering column intermittently does not work. |
| A461335 2017130- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 11-16 dated December 9, 2011. Customer complains of brake squeal. |
| A431315 2033587- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Self-leveling suspension cannot be adjusted during extremely cold weather. The self-leveling suspension warning light is illuminated in the instrument cluster. The self-leveling suspension operates normally again after the vehicle has been parked for a while in a garage or in the sun. DTC 20645 003 (valves for self-leveling control, mechanical fault) is present in the level control system module, J197 (address word 34). If the dryer on the air supply unit (air compressor) has taken in humidity for a long period of time, it may become saturated. As a result, the increased air humidity may get into the solenoid valve block and create condensation. In freezing temperatures, the condensation can freeze and block the valves, a condition that is recognized as a mechanical fault by the vehicle's self-diagnosis. Humidity can also enter the system if there is too much water in the air filter housing. Excess water can enter the air filter housing if the vehicle is driven in deep water or exposed to splashing water for an extended period of time (such as during off-road use). |
| A431314 2018765- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM; SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 43 number 12-11 dated October 29, 2012. The self-leveling system can no longer be adjusted with the MMI. The compressor for the self-leveling system continues to run after the engine has been switched off and the vehicle has been locked. DTCs may be stored in the level control system module, J197 (address word 34). Because of poor performance or failure of the air suspension compressor, the vehicle ride height cannot be adjusted. As a safeguard, the control module will lower the vehicle to the lowest position and illuminate the warning light. Drivability is not affected. |
| A001348 2002047- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 11-19 dated April 8, 2011. This TSB contains information on technician preparation when calling the Audi Technical Assistance Center |

A number of incident memory entries with regard to the throttle valve are stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (01). In most cases, the entries are sporadic. Contact resistance in the ECM wiring ? throttle valve. |
| A011379 2023360- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 11-18 dated January 25, 2011. MIL on. DTC P0087 (Rail fuel pressure too low) or DTC P0088 (Rail fuel pressure too high) stored in the memory of the engine control module (ECM), J623 (01). Excess rattling ("diesel clatter") coming from engine. No start or hard starting condition. Loss of power while driving due to fuel system contamination. Contaminated fuel found in fuel system. Rust or metal debris found in fuel system. Contaminated or incorrect fuel can cause performance, drivability, and/or fuel delivery problems. Rust or metallic debris found in the fuel system indicates a major component failure. Additional component replacement may be necessary to ensure that no contamination or debris remains after repair. Reasons for fuel contamination can include water ingress in the gas station?s holding tanks, errors made in fuel transport, and incorrect fuel being dispensed into the vehicle via the customer or service station (full service) employees. |
| A011380 2024344- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 11-19 dated February 3, 2011. MIL on. Vehicle has reduced performance (in "limp mode"). Various entries may be logged. After recognizing that the boost pressure is too low or too high, the engine control module switches to emergency operation and the engine performance is reduced via the injected fuel quantity ("limp mode"). |
