Service bulletins for the 2009 Audi Q7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A231534 2040752-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 23 number 15-33 dated June 26, 2015. The MIL is on. Vehicle either runs roughly or does not start. One or more DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Metallic particles in the high pressure fuel pump may cause the condition.
A231533 2040752-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 23 number 15-32 dated June 22, 2015. The MIL is on. Vehicle either runs roughly or does not start. One or more DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Metallic particles in the high pressure fuel pump may cause the condition.
A231532 2040752-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The MIL is on. Vehicle either runs roughly or does not start. One or more DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Metallic particles in the high pressure fuel pump may cause the condition.
A971545 2023283-2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-02 dated April 23, 2010. A defective light bulb warning appears in the instrument cluster, but the side marker lights are functioning normally and DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module after the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, is replaced. Due to a change in the software, an additional adaptation must be performed when the vehicle electrical system control module is replaced.
A971548 2013504-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-15 dated October 20, 2010. Sporadic fault memory entries are stored in various control modules. Contacts may be widened (over 0.63 mm) if incorrect pins or incorrect methods for current flow tests are used. Either action may cause intermittent electrical connections, which can cause sporadic DTCs to be stored in various control modules.
A911579 2038824-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-69 dated November 4, 2014. The following message appears on the MMI display: "Device or cable type not supported". The AMI cable being used is a genuine Audi-branded cable with an Audi part number (see Required Parts and Tools for a list of valid part numbers). The "Device or cable type not supported" message may be displayed when an incorrect AMI cable type is connected to the MMI system. Only cables with an Audi part number (i.e., 4F0.XXX.XXX) are supported by the MMI system. Volkswagen-branded cables look similar, but are not guaranteed to work with Audi MMI systems. The label on the end of an Audi-branded cable has an Audi logo and Audi part number. Audi-branded cables have unique firmware inside the hardware that can determine which MMI system and iOS device are connected to the cable. Volkswagen cables do not have this firmware. The firmware is required to allow the system to function normally due to the different technology available in the different MMI systems and in the different iPhones and iPod Touch devices. In addition, the AMI system was designed to play the music stored locally on the connected device only. Music streaming (from Spotify or Pandora, for example) is not supported, and music stored in the cloud (on Google Play, Amazon Prime, or iTunes Match/iCloud, for example) may drop out, pause, and skip when played.
A011515 2018260-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 14-96 dated September 26, 2014. The MIL is on. A number of DTC entries with regard to the throttle valve are stored in the engine control module (ECM). In most cases, the entries are sporadic. Contact resistance in the ECM wiring throttle valve.
A011505 2036169-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY. The MIL is on due to a Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low DTC stored in the ECM. Drivability concerns such as hard starting/no starting are present. Fuel pump may be making a straining noise. Outside temperature is sub-freezing. This issue is related to the diesel fuel and not a technical problem with the vehicle.
Dealer Letter -2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Effective immediately, the codes for the STP4 (2.0L TDI) and STP5 (3.0L TDI) actions will show the campaign code 23Q4 (2.0L TDI) and 23R8 (3.0L TDI) only on the Inventory Vehicle Open Campaign/Action Report. Elsa and ServiceNet will continue to display them as STP4 (2.0L TDI) and STP5 (3.0L TDI).
