Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A6

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

DTCs are stored in the ECM. Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced.
Update Bulletin2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Under certain conditions, permanent mode $0A DTC codes concerning the fuel pump power stage module may remain visible after the vehicle?s OBD system has run the proper monitors successfully to allow the DTC to be erased by the system, after a proper repair. This software malfunction may cause vehicle to not pass IM inspection programs. This software update eliminates specific permanent DTC codes stored in mode $0A of the ECM. All other DTC storage functions remain unaffected. This Update is in effect until removed.
Update Bulletin2017-11-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. No leak is present. There is a software issue in the seat pneumatics control modules that causes the seat pneumatics to automatically actuate in high altitudes (change in air pressure) or in fluctuating temperatures in order to maintain pressure.

A911317 2035919-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). GPS inaccuracies can be caused by several different factors. If it is unclear if this PSS applies, submit a Technical Assistance Center ticket for additional instruction. Perform Spec Actual and attach the GFF log to the ticket. Customer states the navigation system is not tracking the vehicle correctly. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The issue occurs after the vehicle is parked overnight or for several hours in a parking garage or other similar enclosed space. A private home garage does not apply. The issue does not occur if the vehicle is parked overnight or for several hours in an open-sky environment. The condition continues for the duration of the drive. The issue only corrects itself with a 3-finger reset or during a vehicle sleep cycle. The vehicle is not a Q7 or A8. If the above conditions apply and the customer vehicle is a Q7 or A8, submit a Technical Assistance Center ticket for additional instruction. Perform Spec Actual and attach the GFF log to the ticket.

The driver?s voice sounds muffled or background noise sounds very loud to other caller during Bluetooth calls. Voice recognition commands are not recognized or voice recognition accuracy is poor. The location of the microphones within the roof module make them susceptible to interference by the vehicle air vents and climate control settings. When the center air vents are pointed upward, they can cause a ?swirling? effect that affects the audio quality of Bluetooth® and voice recognition. This is particularly evident on hot days when the A/C system is set to ?auto?.
A721309 2035357-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Seat memory function does not work. DTCs are stored. In the event of a voltage fluctuation in the vehicle power system, the software of the seat adjustment module fails.

Battery testing and charging for vehicles equipped with a Battery Data Manager (BDM - J367). When the InCharge 940 is used as a battery charger in auto mode, it performs a battery condition test and may prematurely fail the battery if the charging takes place at the jumper posts in the engine compartment. This is due to the added resistance in the system between the battery and jumper posts. When the InCharge 940 is used as a battery charger in manual mode, the battery condition test is not performed.
A911598 2018187-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-50 dated July 10, 2014. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices.

A911590 2040406-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 15-87 dated May 18, 2015. When the vehicle is started, the GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the MMI navigation map does not match the vehicle?s actual location or direction of travel for a long period of time (often as long as 10 minutes). The issue occurs in open sky, with no large buildings obstructing the sky view. The issue is intermittent, but it can occur for long periods of time during a single day. The issue typically happens on very warm days when the HVAC system blower is at a medium to high setting (auto or manual), with air being directed out of the panel vents. When the issue occurs, the GPS navigation system satellite reception shows 0 satellites. Due to the infrequency of the issue, this might not be verifiable. (To view the number of satellites being received, go to Nav >> Route >> Select Current Position (first item in list) and scroll up. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The vehicle is an A4 (including S4 and allroad variants), A5 (including Cabriolet, S5, and RS 5 variants), A6 (including S6 variant), A7 (including S7/RS 7 variants), A8 (including long wheelbase, S8, or W12 variants) or Q5 (including SQ5 and hybrid variants). Q7 and Q3 vehicles are not affected by this condition. The failure can happen at start-up or while the vehicle is being driven. The issue typically starts when the vehicle is driven on curvy or circular roads, driven in circles (such as when driven around a parking lot), or driven on or off an expressway.
