Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A971442 2036764-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 14-41 dated March 18, 2014. The MIL is on. Vehicle will not start. DTC P068A00 is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Numerous unrelated DTCs are also stored in the system, including: P056200, P057100, P068700, P068A00, P162400, P190C00, U010000, U010100, U012100, U014600, U015500, U021200, U101100, U102600, U111100, U111300, U140000, VAG00003, VAG00185, VAG00263, VAG00317, VAG00384, VAG00446, VAG00456, VAG00457, VAG00466, VAG00473, VAG00532, VAG00565, VAG00591, VAG00714, VAG00819, VAG00955, VAG01217, VAG01299, VAG01314, VAG01315, VAG01317, VAG01320, VAG01330, VAG01331, VAG01332, VAG01334, VAG01333, VAG01336, VAG01705, VAG01964, VAG02067, VAG02072, VAG02095, VAG02103, VAG02203, VAG02214, VAG02635, VAG02812, VAG02874, VAG03041, VAG03157, VAG03166, VAG03220, VAG03278, and/or VAG03531. The motronic engine control module power supply relay, J271, is not functioning properly. Because the J271 relay controls battery voltage (Terminal 30) via a ground signal sent from the ECM, numerous faults can occur in multiple control modules when it is not functioning properly.
A971441 2036764-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The MIL is on. Vehicle will not start. DTC P068A00 is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). Numerous unrelated DTCs are also stored in the system. The motronic engine control module power supply relay, J271, is not functioning properly. Because the J271 relay controls battery voltage (Terminal 30) via a ground signal sent from the ECM, numerous faults can occur in multiple control modules when it is not functioning properly.
A961482 2036344-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. The vehicle's anti-theft alarm sounds when the driver door is unlocked with a mechanical key. No DTCs are stored. The keyless remote was not used to unlock the vehicle. In order to minimize current draw after the ignition has been turned off, the electronics system of the vehicle goes into sleep mode. During this time, each module monitors the CAN bus more slowly than when the electronics system is awake. Because the system is being monitored more slowly, there is a delay in the waking of the central locking system. This delay causes a delay in the disabling of the anti-theft alarm system when the manual key is used. If the key is turned in less than a quarter of a second, the system can unlock the vehicle even though the anti-theft alarm has not been disabled.
A911429 2026888-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-50 dated August 1, 2012. Echo effects, caller on either end cannot hear conversation, sound distortion or feedback, and the sound is distorted, hisses, or scrapes occur during a phone call. This bulletin provides guidelines for analyzing the call quality of the Bluetooth system in the vehicle, and is not applicable to any Audi warranty.
A911428 2036576-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-26 dated February 24, 2014. The MMI screen goes blank then restarts or the MMI screen freezes for a few minutes then recovers when a phone is connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth when the user searches for a contact name in the MMI address book (by using the MMI control knob or the voice recognition system). This condition occurs because special characters (including symbols, emoticons, or map icons) are stored in the name field of a phonebook contact.
A911427 2036575-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The addresses and contacts stored in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus disappear intermittently in vehicles with MMI3G+ Navigation, and in vehicles with or without Audi connect. Intermittently, the MMI system does not appear to remember that the user's myAudi PIN has already been entered, and it requires the user to enter the PIN again in vehicles with Audi connect. If a user stores addresses and contacts in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus while a Bluetooth phone is paired to the vehicle, those addresses and contacts will only be visible any time that the same phone is paired to the vehicle. Any time that the same phone is not paired to the vehicle, the addresses and contacts will not be available. If a user stores addresses and contacts in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus while a Bluetooth phone is not paired to the vehicle, the addresses and contacts will be available any time. In vehicles with Audi connect, the user is prompted to enter the myAudi PIN when selecting online destinations or when importing contacts from the myAudi account. If the user?s Bluetooth phone (the same phone that was paired to the vehicle when the PIN was entered initially) is paired to the vehicle, the user will not be prompted to re-enter the PIN after it has been entered.

After the airbag control module (J234) has been replaced, the control unit cannot be coded via SVM spec/actual. An SVM code is required to code and parameterize the new service replacement airbag control module. Each model's SVM code is provided in a parts bulletin (GP bulletin), which should have been referenced through ETKA when the module was replaced. The control module cannot be coded until the SVM code has been executed. If the SVM code was not acquired through the GP bulletin in ETKA, follow the instructions in the Service section of this bulletin to update the control module.

The light bulb warning light is displayed in the instrument cluster with the ?Vehicle lights: malfunction? message. DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module. Exterior lights are functioning properly. If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and remains there, the light bulb warning light and the error message appear after approximately ten seconds. Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 or DTC 01800 are changed to sporadic. After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTCs are automatically cleared.
A911424 2020399-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 09-30 dated April 14, 2009. The Audi MMI system will not play audio files from an SD card.
