Service bulletin SSM 51822

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2023 F150 hybrid vehicles may exhibit an intermittent no start and Stop Safely Now message displayed in the instrument panel cluster and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U0293 and/or P1A43 in the BECM or in connected vehicle data. A Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software concern may be triggering the no start condition. Replacement or reprogramming of the BECM or PCM is not recommended for this condition at this time. This does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that the vehicle will start after leaving it off temporarily. Engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in Q4 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SSM 523492024-04-04. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles may exhibit DTC C0604:00 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and may have an Active Air Dam System Fault See Manual message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). To correct this condition, clear and retest for the DTC C0604:00. If DTC C0604:00 returns, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-19 Bumpers, Diagnosis and Testing for additional diagnosis.
TSB 24-20682024-04-03. Service bulletin. Some 2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with 3.5L PowerBoost engine and F-150 Lightning vehicles receiving a replacement Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may experience an error during the FDRS Programmable Module Installation (PMI) routine which states Procedure Unsuccesful - GetFlashActionPartNumbers Unable To Obtain Flash Action Part Numbers From Available Topology. This may be due to the software level of the powertrain control module (PCM) and/or the secondary on-board diagnostic module C (SOBDMC).
SSM 522442024-02-14. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine, 2020-2023 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine and 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L hybrid engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and auto start/stop disabled. This may be due to a loose wiring connection to the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). The Workshop Manual (WSM) has recently been updated to provide new direction for DTC P0A1E. Refer to the WSM, Section 303-06 Starting System, Diagnosis and Testing, Starting System for applicable diagnosis.
