Service bulletin ITB15018A

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

IF YOU CONFIRM: "Brake Judder" during braking, especially when braking at highway speeds. Symptoms of "brake judder": - steering wheel shake - body vibration - brake pedal pulsation IMPORTANT NOTES: If any symptom above occurs when cruising or coasting (not braking), it is not "Brake Judder" and may be tire/wheel related. DO NOT CONFUSE "Brake Judder" with the rapid consistent-speed pedal pulsation that may be felt and only occurs when ABS is activated during hard braking or on slippery road surfaces. ACTION: 1. Inspect the front brake rotors to determine if "machining" ("turning") is possible or if replacement is necessary. 2. Replace both pad pins in both front 4-piston calipers (see PARTS INFORMATION). 3. Replace the front brake pads (see PARTS INFORMATION). See this bulletin for further detail.

ACTION 1. Inspect the I-Key?s battery on its negative contact side. 2. If excessive scratching is found, replace the battery. 3. Verify all I-Key functions (both "hands free" and remote) work properly after battery replacement. NOTE: Do NOT replace the BCM, I-Key, or other parts for the issue described under IF YOU CONFIRM, if it should occur. See this bulletin for further detail.

SERVICE INFORMATION This bulletin has compiled Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) and Low Tire Pressure Warning System (LTPWS) information for: - Basic diagnosing of TPMS/LTPWS systems - Radio frequency interference causing a "No Data" (C1708, C1709, C1710, C1711) condition - Sensor leaks - Moving TPMS/LTPWS wheel assemblies from one vehicle to another and TPMS/LTPWS sensor registration - Air pressure changes with altitude and ambient temperatures - Aftermarket tire sealers - Aftermarket wheels - Inflating/deflating tires with TPMS/LTPWS sensors See this bulletin for further detail.
ITB150252021-05-10. Service bulletin. SERVICE INFORMATION When servicing run flat tires or low profile tires: - Special equipment and procedures are required to avoid damage. - Specifically, Tire Pressure Monitor transmitters (TPMS sensors) can be damaged when improperly dismounting and mounting tires. - TPMS sensors becoming damaged during mounting or dismounting tires are not covered under warranty. - To avoid such damage, ensure that the tire changer being used and the operator of the tire changer are capable of servicing run flat and low profile tires. - Operator?s manuals for such tire changers must be followed. See this bulletin for further detail.
ITB140442021-05-10. Service bulletin. IF YOU CONFIRM: The rear brakes squeak when braking while the brakes are at normal operating temperature AND the applied vehicle is equipped with single piston rear brake calipers. ACTION: Replace the hardware on both rear brake calipers with the kit listed in PARTS INFORMATION in this bulletin. NOTE: Machining of the rotors is not necessary. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section BR-Brake System, for removal and installation. See this bulletin for further detail.
ITB140262021-05-10. Service bulletin. IF YOU CONFIRM When initially applying the brakes: * The brakes are too sensitive and may unexpectedly grab with a lower than normal pedal pressure. AND * Only occurs at ambient temperatures below 40°F (4°C). NOTE: This Service Procedure will not change or affect any braking sensitivity above 40°F (4°C). ACTION 1. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. 2. Reprogram the Brake Controller. 3. Erase all DTCs present. Please see this bulletin for further details.
