What is wrong
Issue:
On certain trucks, water could leak into the connector for the rearview camera. Over time, this could cause corrosion to the ground wire. If this happens, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or at all.
Note: Vehicles equipped with 360-degree camera systems are not affected by this recall.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the rearview camera and the rearview camera wiring harness.

| SSM 54491 | 2026-01-21. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2026 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel may exhibit a sunshield with localized looseness/sagging or binding/inoperative. This may be due to a broken or missing sunshield fabric retainer/clip. A revised sunshield clip (5452118) is available to address this condition. It is not necessary to replace the entire sunshield assembly if the clip(s) are broken or missing. | SSM 54137 | 2025-08-19. Service bulletin. Various 2021-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the rear camera on demand feature may exhibit "Please Check Surroundings For Safety" or "Full View Not Available" messages when the rear camera button is pressed and the vehicle is not in reverse. Inform customers this condition is considered normal operation and does not affect vehicle durability because the full rear view camera image can only be shown when the vehicle is in reverse. No additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition. |
| SSM 50478 | 2022-02-16. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Corsair vehicles may exhibit air conditioning (A/C) condensation leaking onto the passenger floor making the carpet wet. This may be due to a hole created at the bottom of climate control housing caused by a difficult to remove retainer located on the side of the center console trim panel. There is a pin type retainer that attaches the side trim panel to the climate control housing, it must be cut prior to removal otherwise it could damage the climate control housing resulting in a condensation leak to the interior. The fuse block cover needs to be removed before accessing the right hand side trim panel. Refer Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-12 for the proper removal procedure. |
| SSM 50105 | 2021-09-28. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Corsair/Escape vehicles may exhibit issues with the roof opening panel shield feature of the roof opening panel where a replacement shield pilot clip is needed. The shield pilot clips are now available separately for service, Part Number LJ6Z-5452118-A. Reference Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-17. Replacement of the roof opening panel sun shade is not necessary when only replacing the shield pilot clips. |
| SSM 50015 | 2021-09-04. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles are equipped with an anti-fogging feature known as enhanced windshield anti fogging strategy (EWAFS). This feature automatically adjusts airflow in the cabin to prevent the windshield from fogging up and may be perceived by customers as irregular climate control functionality. To reduce fogging, the EWAFS functions include: the air condition (A/C) button may turn on and off automatically, recirculated air may turn off automatically in all air modes except MAX A/C, recirculated air may also turn on and off automatically in various airflow modes in order to improve heating or cooling efficiency, and in auto climate control, high humidity conditions may automatically engage A/C compressor, increase blower motor speed and/or direct more air to windshield. Continue to monitor the Workshop Manual (WSM) for EWAFS updates. |
| SSM 49807 | 2021-06-01. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2021 Corsair vehicles may exhibit a distorted view when looking at the exterior mirror glass. This may be due to the mirror glass not being fully seated into all retaining tabs and not the glass itself. Verify that the exterior mirror glass is fully seated into all of the retaining tabs before attempting any further repairs. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-09. |
| TSB 20-2381 | 2020-12-05. Service bulletin. Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel may exhibit a bounce back when closing. This may be more noticeable when the engine is running. This may be due to the glass panel adjustment. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to adjust the roof opening panel glass. |
| SSM 49087 | 2020-09-04. Service bulletin. Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel may exhibit a flutter, drone, hum, and/or vibration noise while driving. This may be due to an incorrectly adjusted roof opening panel. Components should not be replaced for this condition. Adjust the roof opening panel so that the front edge of the sliding glass panel is contacting the margin seal. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-17. After adjustment perform a power roof opening panel initialization. Refer to WSM, Section 501-17. |
