Service bulletins for the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

If, after replacement of the steering rack, fault code 01309 008 is set in the ABS/ESP module only, follow the test plan in GFF for Driver Steering Recommendation (DSR) or channel 3 activation. If the test plan fails to clear the fault, follow the direction below using Vehicle Self Diagnosis in Address Word 44 - Steering Assistance |

| TT441101 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the battery has a low state of charge or is disconnected, fault code 02757 ?adapting tire pressures? may set in address 03 ? Brake Electronics. The GFF test plan for this fault may prove inconclusive and the fault may not clear, even after performing TPMS reset using the button in glove box or through the MFI. |
| TT271301 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When diagnosing a generator charging concern, it is recommended to verify operation of the one way clutch located in the generator pulley (if equipped) before replacing generator assembly. To check the one way clutch, remove the belt from the generator pulley and use a trim removal tool to hold fan blades inside generator, as shown below. When attempting to turn pulley by hand with fan blades held, pulley should spin freely in only one direction. If pulley spins freely in both directions, the one way clutch has failed and should be replaced before continuing diagnosis. |
| TT271102 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When diagnosing a low battery or no charging system concern, start by inspecting the SA1 200 amp fuse in the SA fuse block. DO NOT replace the generator. Perform a voltage drop test between threaded connections 508 and SA1 as shown in Figure 1. If the voltage drop is above .02V, disconnect the battery and remove the cables at the 508 connection and the SA1 connection. Check for continuity of the threaded plate connection between 508 and SA1. If fuse SA1 is found to have an open circuit, replace the fuse and check the threaded connections closely. |
| TT261402 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Disconnect both O2 sensors (front and rear), start engine and let idle. Check MVB's 41/4 and 136/4 and verify have both changed from a 1 to a 0 (you may have to drive the car 4 miles to get them to reset to 0). Also a key cycle may be required for values to reset. This forces the ECM to re-learn the O2 sensor adaptation. Once MVB 41/4 and 136/4 read 0, re-connect the O2 sensors, road test and recheck for faults. |
| TT261303 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Use of aftermarket air filters such as cotton bed steel mesh or cone style, can cause the MAF sensor to not read accurately, affecting vehicle performance and critical monitoring functions for the diesel particulate filter. This can also result in premature DPF failure. Only use factory air filters. The use of aftermarket air filters is not supported as the system was designed and calibrated to work with factory air filters. |
| TT241303 | 2023-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM). When diagnosing a vehicle concern, and fault P130A ?Hide Cylinder? is found in the Engine Control Module (ECM), be aware that Engine Control Module (ECM) fault P130A ?Hide Cylinder? indicates a cylinder shut down and does not require diagnosis. |
| TB481303 | 2023-06-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Poor Power Steering Assistance, DTCs 16344 014, 16353 014, 16355 014, 02614 014 Stored in Power Steering Control Module J500 |
| TB481302 | 2023-06-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Poor Power Steering Assistance, DTCs 16344 014, 16353 014, 16355 014, 02614 014 Stored in Power Steering Control Module J500 |
| TT971402 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The DLC is intended for use with diagnostic scan tools and by emissions testing stations. However, aftermarket devices (i.e., drive data recorders) that connect to the DLC have now become available. |
| TT961402 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When replacing the complete vehicle lock set (all vehicle keys and lock cylinders) for any reason, be aware that the ?Adapt keys? test plan will not allow the new keys to adapt to the vehicle. Instead, perform the test plan for ?New identity?. During this test plan, make the appropriate selection to indicate only the lock set has been replaced, as shown below in figures 1 and 2. |
| TT961207 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:ANTI-THEFT:IMMOBILIZER/PROXIMITY:KEY/SENDER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. All keys must be present during key adaptation. Immobilizer reader coil is ALWAYS located in the steering column. DO NOT remove Start/Stop button mounted in center console to access reader coil. |
| TT911306 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the radio is switching to the Bluetooth audio selection whenever a paired phone makes any sound, such as typing or an incoming email or text message, check the BT-Audio Autoplay setting in the Media Setup menu as shown below. If BT-Audio Autoplay is on (checked), switch selection off and retest for concern. If radio software is 0016 or 0007, radio may require software update as per TB 91-13-05 (2031136) to allow BT-Audio Autoplay to switch off. |
| TT911302 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:CONNECTORS/PLUGS:ACCESORY POWER OUTLET/JACK/PORT/USB/SAE/CIGARETTE LIGHTER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. The Apple iPhone 5, iPad fourth generation, and iPod nano seventh generation use a proprietary ?Lightning? connector that is different than the 30 pin dock connector found on previous iPhone and iPod models. |

| TT901207 | 2023-06-13. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER:SENSOR/SENDING UNIT. Alternative (or second) speed display is available to show the vehicle speed in units other than the units shown on the vehicle?s speedometer. If the vehicle?s speedometer shows mph, the alternative speed display will show a digital readout of the current vehicle speed in km/h. The alternative speed display is shown in place of the odometer reading only when the vehicle is moving. To activate the alternative speed display, use the following procedure. |
