Service bulletins for the 2019 Tesla Model S

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

66 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

SB2139001R22022-05-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB2139001R22022-02-28. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB2139001R12021-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB-21-17-0022021-03-15. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. The grounding path conductivity for some Model Y front body controller modules might cause the vehicle touchscreen to display an erroneous ?Hood latch sensor requires service? message. This condition will not affect any functions of the frunk latch.
SB-20-31-0012020-08-10. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some Model S and Model X vehicles might have front stabilizer bars with improperly vulcanized bushings that make a squeak noise when driving over road imperfections.
SB-20-32-0042020-07-06. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some Model S and Model X vehicles might exhibit stiff steering due to corrosion at the lower steering column I-shaft U-joint.
SB-20-12-0022020-04-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; EQUIPMENT; LANE DEPARTURE; STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS. On some Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles, condensation might build up inside of the B-pillar applique, potentially obscuring the B-pillar camera. This condition might cause some Autopilot features to be temporarily unavailable until the condensation goes away, such as Auto Lane Change, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning.
SB-20-50-0012020-03-09. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Certain Model 3, Model S, and Model X vehicles were equipped with 2nd generation Universal Mobile Connector (UMC) inline units having a proximity circuit resistor that is out of specification. This resistor within the affected UMC inline unit might prevent charging, might interrupt charging while in progress, and might affect the functionality of the UMC charge handle button when disconnecting the charge handle from the vehicle charge port.
SB-20-17-0012020-02-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. When some Autopilot HW2 and HW2.5 Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles are near airport ASR-9 radar antennae, the vehicle cameras might be affected by electromagnetic interference, and Autopilot/camera alerts might be displayed.
SB-19-39-001 R32020-01-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; WHEELS. Older versions of the Model S and Model X LH front drive unit clevis mount contain a bushing that allows the front drive unit to move side-to-side more than expected during hard accelerations, resulting in excessive vibrations coming from the front drive unit during hard acceleration. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB-19-44-0082019-08-12. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On certain Model S and Model X vehicles, the 2nd generation High Voltage (HV) harness between the Front Junction Box (FJB) and the front drive unit might become disconnected, which could prompt a driver alert to bring the vehicle to a safe stop, advise the driver of limited acceleration, or prevent the driver from operating the vehicle upon startup. This condition does not affect steering or braking.
SB-19-39-001 R22019-07-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Older versions of the Model S and Model X LH front drive unit clevis mount contain a bushing that allows the front drive unit to move side-to-side more than expected during hard accelerations, resulting in excessive vibrations coming from the front drive unit during hard acceleration.
