Service bulletins for the 2017 Tesla Model S

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

92 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

SB-18-31-009 R22020-08-10. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. On some Model S vehicles equipped with air suspension, a front-end rattle noise might come from behind the IP carrier when traveling over road transitions at low speed. For example, the noise might be heard when traveling from a driveway to a street, or from an asphalt surface to a concrete surface. The noise is generated from a normal mechanical operation that has no detrimental effect on the vehicle.
