Service bulletins for the 2017 Subaru Outback

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

397 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

07-121-172018-05-29. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MODELS WITH EYESIGHT ONLY. This bulletin provides a repair procedure to address DTC B2902 which may be stored erroneously due to a specification mismatch. This bulletin applies to a very limited number of early-production 2017 model year vehicles without the auto headlamp leveling (AHL) feature only. Having the incorrect control module installed has absolutely NO effect on normal headlamp system operation and does not cause any warning lamp(s) to illuminate. The repair involves replacing the headlamp control module.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
