Service bulletins for the 2016 Porsche Macan
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 122-W2D8L-10 | 2018-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:ANTI-THEFT:CONTROL MODULE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:HORN; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:ANTI-THEFT DEVICES. Symptom: When locking the vehicle, the locking beep can sometimes be heard only once instead of twice. Cause: Insufficient communication between the horn and rear-end electronics control unit can cause the locking beep to sound only once. |
| 122-S4R2X-07 | 2018-07-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Subject: Outside temperature sensor Symptom: The outside temperature display shows implausible values. Cause: The outside temperature display can show implausible values because the wire harness for the outside temperature sensor is too long. |
| 122-F4U4P-04 | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Model Line: Cayenne (92A) Macan (95B) Concerns: AGM starter battery (referred to below simply as ?battery?) | 122-T7Y5Q-12 | 2017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Information: This document updates information previously published in EQ 1105, EQ 1105, and EQ 1401. To provide stable voltage and sufficient current throughout certain service operations, you should connect the vehicle to a battery charger (sometimes referred to as a power supply). However, you may experience ECU programming and coding issues if the chosen battery charger has insufficient power. Many workshop manuals currently advise use of a battery charger with a 40 or 70 A current rating. However, with the increasing current requirements of modern Porsche vehicles, we recommend a battery charger capable of producing a minimum current of 90 A. |
| 122-X5B2V-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY:CABLES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Due to incorrect fitting of the front hood lock cable, there is a possibility that the cable will rub against the microswitch for the hood lock. This will damage the microswitch. As a result, the warning "Hood open" will be displayed in the instrument cluster. |
| 122-B2R3T-10 | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. There is increased friction in the air spring compressor valves at temperatures below ?13° F (?25° C). This can result in a situation in which the maximum control current is not sufficient to actuate the valves. As a result, a warning message will be displayed in the instrument cluster and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) will stop working temporarily. Re-program PASM control unit using the PIWIS Tester with software version 33.010.030 (PIWIS Tester 3) or version 17.100.030 (PIWIS Tester II) or a higher software version installed. |
| 122-Y8E4C-10 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Subject: Outside temperature display in the instrument cluster Information: Customers complain that the outside temperature value in the instrument cluster is implausible and does not change. |
| 122-B3Y9V-10 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Concern: Coding failures of the instrument cluster. Information: Ensure the Auto Memory option is deselected prior to replacing or coding an Instrument Cluster on all Macan models. Due to the numerous options and software available to support those options, coding faults can occur. To turn off Auto Memory through the Instrument Cluster; Select Setting-> Locking-> Auto Memory. If the vehicle is not equipped with Auto Memory, no work around is necessary. |
| 122-B7U4T-05 | 2017-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Customer Concern: Certain vehicle systems have unwanted, unpredictable behavior. Technical Concern: The symptoms are difficult to diagnose. There may be multiple symptoms intermittently affecting multiple systems. Though this is not an exhaustive list, some common failure modes are: ? Start/stop issues ? Power windows not fully returning to the parked position after automatic preopening ? PCM audio stopping during a start/stop cycle Ultimately, the technician determines that low 12-volt battery voltage is the underlying root cause of the unwanted behavior. The technician corrects the battery?s low voltage. Consequently, the unwanted behavior ends. |
| 122-A4N7P-09 | 2017-09-14. Service bulletin. TRAILER HITCHES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL. Information: A Cayenne with optional equipment no. 1D6 will come with a Trailer hitch receiver and wiring up to the receiver hitch that includes a control unit to operate the trailer parking lights, turn signals and brake lights. | 122-Z5F3L-09 | 2016-10-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The customer observes an MIL. The technician is able to verify the MIL and notices fault code P0071 stored in the DME. PCNA is aware of this this issue. As background information, the fault is caused by the temperature sensor not communicating with the DME via CAN. |
